The Night of the Storm, I Walked Home Alone
Noah · Ongoing · 6.7k Words
Introduction
I was standing outside the office with a coworker, waiting for a ride, while my boyfriend's texts came in one after another.
"It's pouring. Don't forget your umbrella."
"Don't cut through the parking garage on the way home. The water's freezing and the floor's slippery."
"Take a hot shower when you get in, and make yourself some tea. Your hands and feet always get cold. Stay warm."
My screen brightness was turned all the way up, and my coworker couldn't miss it. She nudged me.
"Claire, look at you, showing off. You never talk about your boyfriend anymore. Afraid someone's going to steal him?"
The words were barely out of her mouth when a black Mercedes tore past and drenched me from head to toe.
I wiped my face and pointed at the car, already nothing but taillights.
"Somebody already did. That's my best friend in his passenger seat."
My coworker clapped a hand over her mouth.
I held up my phone. The Uber queue had over a hundred people ahead of me.
"We're not getting a car tonight. Let's take the subway."
When we said goodbye at the station, my phone was still chiming with new iMessages.
I didn't open a single one. I just opened my email, calmly, and replied to the transfer offer that was about to expire.
"I'll report to the Miami office next Monday."
Then I turned around and took a different street, one with less water on it.
I can get myself home in the rain.

Chapter One
Even with an umbrella, the rain was so heavy that by the time I got home I was soaked nearly to the skin.
When I pushed the door open, I heard the hum of a hair dryer.
Serena was curled up on the couch in a bath towel. The man standing behind her was carefully drying her hair.
Every movement, every lift of his hand, was gentle and doting.
The room was so cozy that no one even noticed me come in.
Lucas sounded a little exasperated.
"Which hair oil do you want? Gardenia?"
Serena made a sweet, sulky little sound.
"Which scent do you like better?"
Lucas picked out a bottle of hair oil like he'd done it a hundred times, squeezed some into his palm, and worked it carefully, attentively, through every strand of her hair.
As solemn as if he were handling something precious.
I stood there and stared, my wet clothes clinging to me, clammy and cold.
Serena saw me first.
Her eyes curved, and she let out a soft laugh.
"Claire, why are you so late? Is it really bad out there? You're completely soaked!"
Three questions in a row, and somehow I didn't know how to answer any of them.
Lucas paused. His gaze landed on me, and he frowned slightly.
"Didn't I tell you to dress warm and bring an umbrella? You forgot again?"
For Serena, he did pickups and drop-offs, every single day without fail.
For me, all I got were reminders.
So which one of us was his girlfriend, exactly?
Feeling my eyes on him, Lucas stiffened, then explained, a little awkwardly:
"Serena got off early, so I picked her up first."
"Besides, you've been independent your whole life. You can manage on your own."
That clammy feeling crept along my skin until it finally settled over my heart.
I dropped my umbrella and kicked off my heels, ruined by the rain.
I looked at him.
"Lucas, let's break up."
With a sharp crack, the bottle of oil slipped from Lucas's hand and shattered on the floor.
A heavy, cloying scent filled the living room.
Lucas frowned, his eyes fixed on me, unmoving.
Before he could say anything, Serena got to her feet.
She put on a flustered act and rushed to explain:
"Oh no, Claire, this is all my fault. I forgot to tell Lucas to go get you."
"I got caught in the rain downstairs, and he was busy drying my hair. He didn't have a free hand."
"Be reasonable, okay? Don't throw another tantrum and pick a fight with him."
I looked at Serena calmly.
Six months ago, she'd gotten divorced. Three years as a stay-at-home wife, and in the end her ex-husband's prenup left her with nothing.
She'd gotten drunk and called me in the middle of the night, crouched on a curb somewhere, sobbing so hard she could barely get the words out.
I was the one who dropped everything and brought her from Ohio to New York. I was the one who stuck my neck out to get her a job at my company, and taught her the work, one step at a time.
And now?
This was how she repaid me.
All of a sudden, I was cold all over.
I pushed past her and headed for the bathroom.
Lucas grabbed my arm. His voice went cold.
"So you got a little wet. It's not enough to take it out on me, you have to give Serena attitude too?"
"Claire Bennett, are you serious right now?"
I stared at the bra sitting in the sink, half-washed and still soaking.
Everything I'd been holding back broke loose at once.
Like a madwoman, I swept everything off the counter, grabbed that lacy bra, and threw it hard in Lucas's face.
"No, I'm not!"
"Not as serious as you are about hand-washing another woman's underwear! Lucas, you're nothing but a—"
Smack!
Before I could finish, his palm cracked across my face.
Lucas had reached his limit.
"Claire, show some respect!"
"Don't forget, you're the orphan who got passed from one foster home to the next because nobody wanted you!"

Rejected By My Family, Desired By The Mafia
While the real heiress struggled to survive, the nanny’s daughter, Talia, was raised in luxury as the beloved jewel of the Laurent family, pampered by Camille’s parents, adored by her three brothers, and even promised to the prestigious Matteo Devereux through a childhood engagement arranged by their grandparents.
Then the truth came out.
Six months ago, Camille was finally brought back to the Laurent family. To protect the family reputation and prove their devotion to their bloodline, the Laurent patriarch transferred 35% of his personal shares into Camille’s name overnight, instantly making her one of the wealthiest heiresses in the country.
It brought anxiety to all the Laurent family. But what they don’t know…is that Camille never needed them.
Behind her elegant smile lies a woman filled with secrets powerful enough to shake the whole family. She's a miraculous healer capable of curing the incurable poisons.
Yet despite everything, her family still chooses Talia.
Every accusation against Talia is forgiven. Every scheme against Camille is brushed aside. Even Matteo, the man who was supposed to be Camille’s fiancé—cannot let go of the woman he always believed belonged by his side.
But while the Laurent family underestimates Camille, another man begins to see exactly who she is.

Only Camille can. Their deal is simple: she becomes his personal physician, and he gives her anything she wants.
Mated To My Nemesis
Agnes Tremaine arrived in Melbourne with a camera but no backstory in this world. She was meant to document one season. She never realized she was already the blueprint — that the connections, the open doors, and the meticulous arrangements were all built specifically for her, tailored and designed to use her.
Ace had a nine-year revenge in the making. A journalist had destroyed his sister's life and left no fingerprints. Now the man's daughter was standing in his garage with a camera, and Ace had been the one to open the door.
His wolf chooses a mate he never wanted and couldn't shake — not in the paddock, not on the track, not even at 200mph where nothing else had ever followed him before.
For the first time in his life, he couldn't have it all.
Let Them Kneel
Cast out by her pack. Forgotten by the Lycans.
She lived among humans—quiet, invisible, tucked away in a town no one looked at twice.
But when her first heat comes without warning, everything changes.
Her body ignites. Her instincts scream. And something primal stirs beneath her skin—
summoning a big, bad Alpha who knows exactly how to quench her fire.
When he claims her, it’s ecstasy and ruin.
For the first time, she believes she’s been accepted.
Seen.
Chosen.
Until he leaves her the next morning—
like a secret never to be spoken.
But Kaelani is not what they thought.
Not wolfless. Not weak.
There is something ancient inside her. Something powerful. And it’s waking.
And when it does—
they’ll all remember the girl they tried to erase.
Especially him.
She’ll be the dream he keeps chasing… the one thing that ever made him feel alive.
Because secrets never stay buried.
And neither do dreams.
Love's Deadly Equation
I was sent to her.
To watch her. To protect her. And, when the order comes… to kill her.
My name is Keegan Caffery. I’m the Carter Mafia’s best hitman. I don’t miss. I don’t fail.
At least, I didn’t use to.
I don’t know what it is about her that got to me first—her mouth, her mind, or the way she looks at me like I’m not what she should fear.
I’ve had a gun to her head since I walked into her life.
She knows it.
And she still doesn’t run.
She just watches me back like she’s studying a problem she refuses to call impossible.
She’s the one variable I can’t control.
And God help me… I don’t want to.
I have an order. I have loyalty. I have a trigger.
But every time I imagine it—
I can’t stand it.
Her or me. That’s the math.
It’s a deadly equation I don’t want to solve.
⬥ Maisie ⬥
I’m not ordinary. I stopped pretending long ago.
My name is Maisie Seo. IQ 145. Clinical genius.
Which sounds impressive until you realize what it actually means: I don’t fit anywhere people expect me to.
I see patterns everywhere. Outcomes before they happen. People like equations I’ve already solved.
It gets lonely in a world you’ve already figured out.
So I dull myself down. Smoke the edges off. Pretend, badly, to be the kind of normal that lets people stay.
Then he walked in.
I knew what he was immediately. Dangerous. Intentional. Wrong in all the right ways.
I should be afraid of him.
I keep waiting for that to kick in.
Instead, I’m fascinated.
Because for the first time in my life… I’ve found something I can’t solve.
He is my deadly equation.
BROKEN TRUST
Neither of them knew she was carrying his child.

Ryan left without looking back, carrying his anger like armor and leaving Emily alone with regret she would never outrun. Three years later, fate drags them back into each other’s world, along with a little girl who has Ryan’s eyes and a truth that shatters everything he thought he knew.
Old wounds reopen, grief masquerades as rage, and love refuses to stay buried. As parenthood binds them together and the past demands accountability, Emily and Ryan must face the question neither of them is ready to answer: is broken trust the end of their story… or the beginning of a love forged through loss, forgiveness, and brutal honesty?

Her.
Kellan Stroud is thirty, powerful, ruthless, and already waiting at Sturgis to meet the woman he expects to marry.
Taryn wants no part of him, no part of the agreement, and definitely no part of a future chosen for her by two men who think a signature is enough to decide where she belongs.
Then she meets Bobby Fuentes.
At twenty, Bobby is one of the youngest fully patched members of the Sons of Doom MC. He is quiet until he has something to say, dangerous when he needs to be, and smart enough to get into places no one else can. Hacking is what he does best.
Until Taryn gives him a new problem to solve.
One reckless connection at Sturgis becomes something neither of them can ignore, and when Bobby realizes exactly what Rook has promised away, walking away stops being an option.
But stealing another president’s future wife is not a misunderstanding.
It is an insult.
A betrayal.
And in the MC world, it can mean war.
Taryn refuses to be anyone’s property.
Bobby has never been good at following rules.
And Kellan Stroud does not forgive what he believes belongs to him.
The road out of Sturgis may cost them everything first.

The Mafia King's Unknown Doctor Wife
Taste of Fate: The Vampire King's Human Mate
He reached for the back of my head and pulled me up just enough to reach my neck. When his fangs slid into me, the pain was instant, electric. I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t think. My hands found his shoulders, clawing for something to hold. My legs kicked. Tears streamed down my cheeks.
He moaned against my throat as he drank, and the sound was devastating.
