That single night changes everything. When Megan disappears and Chloe’s family turns against her, she is forced into an unthinkable role: the substitute bride. Trapped in a loveless marriage, she faces a ruthless father, a cruel stepmother, and a husband who belongs to someone else.
Two years later, after her father’s death and Megan’s shocking return, the fragile balance shatters. Ruan, torn between the past and the present, demands a divorce. But as the papers are drawn, he realizes something he never expected—Chloe has taken root in his heart in ways he cannot deny.
Now, he must face the one question that could rewrite their fate:
What if the love he spent years searching for has always been with the woman he swore he would never love?
Chapter 1
The morning sun filtered through the white curtains, painting the room in light golden tones. Still, Phoenix's October heat was sweltering; Dry waves stuck to the skin before it even reached noon. Chloe woke up early, as usual, to prepare breakfast for three people. But that day, the weight of the routine seemed lighter. It was as if all the previous years had been nothing but rehearsals. That day, she felt ready to play the leading role in her life. The morning sun filtered through the white curtains, painting the bedroom in pale golden tones. Still, Phoenix's October heat was suffocating; dry waves clung to the skin before noon even arrived. Chloe had woken up early, as always, to prepare breakfast for three people. But that day, the weight of routine felt lighter.
It was as if all the previous years had been nothing but rehearsal. That day, she felt ready to play the leading role in her life.
Chloe had been in love with her boyfriend since she met him in high school five years ago. A year later, they were already dating and making plans for the future. Leonidas always said that when Chloe turned twenty, he would ask her to marry him.
And here she was; her twentieth birthday had finally come.
That thought made her smile. She twirled her feet, sliding across the cold floor while smiling and dancing in the empty kitchen.
“You’re so happy today.” Josephine walked into the kitchen, staring at her with suspicion. “Some special event?”
“I feel… more mature today,” she said, but Josephine raised her eyebrows, indifferent. “Why hasn’t Megan gotten up yet?”
“Megan isn’t home.” Chloe stopped what she was doing and looked at her stepmother. “She’s busy with the wedding preparations.”
“Ah, right.” Chloe had almost forgotten Megan was getting married the next day.
No one seemed to remember it was her birthday. Everyone was caught up in their problems. Chloe hadn’t expected anything from her stepmother, but her half-sister should at least have been there to congratulate her.
Chloe’s mother had died nearly a decade earlier. Two years later, her father married Josephine. Since then, she and Megan, her new half-sister, had grown up as friends, confidants, and true sisters, despite sharing no blood ties.
“Why is my coffee taking so long?” Josephine’s impatience burst into her ears.
Trying to hide her frustration, Chloe set the table, served her stepmother, and left the kitchen. Her heart raced when she grabbed her phone. No notifications.
Not a single message wishing her a happy birthday. Then, the phone buzzed. A text from Leonidas:
“Let’s have dinner tonight. Meet me at my place.”
Chloe smiled. Maybe this was the moment. Perhaps he really was going to propose.
The day dragged on until night finally came. Chloe never imagined she would spend her birthday so lonely, locked up at home, completely forgotten by everyone.
She climbed the stairs in silence, grabbed her purse, and left the house. She could hardly wait to receive her birthday present. Twenty minutes later, she arrived at his place.
Wanting to surprise him, she opened the door with the spare key he had given her. But her smile vanished as soon as she stepped inside. No candles. No flowers. No music.
Leonidas sat on the couch, and there wasn’t a single table set for a romantic dinner. When he saw her, he stood and stared. His expression is unreadable.
“I think we should break up.” He said it so quickly she barely managed to breathe.
“What did you say?” She blinked, her voice barely a whisper. “Is this a joke?”
He looked at her from across the room and exhaled sharply. Chloe thought Leonidas was only saying that to scare her. Nobody threw away three years of dating for no reason.
“I’m not joking,” his tone cut like a knife. “I should have done this earlier. I’m sorry, Chloe.”
“Do you remember what day it is?” Her voice rose slightly as she looked around. “Do you remember what you said you’d do when I turned twenty?”
Leonidas didn’t remember, just like no one else had remembered her birthday. He stared at her, confused and silent, trying to recall her words. After a few seconds of silence, when she realized he wouldn’t remember, she went on.
“I thought you’d propose to me today,” she said, disoriented, her tears already blurring her vision. “But I don’t want you to feel pressured.”
“I never wanted to propose to you.” His words hit her like a slap. “If I truly loved you, don’t you think I would’ve married you already?”
Chloe stopped breathing. Hearing him say that made her entire world collapse. She had dedicated three years of her life to the only man she had ever loved, only to see him walk away without any explanation.
“We can still make this work,” she rushed to say, desperate to reverse the situation.
“We can’t, because I don’t want to change anything.” His voice was bitter as he took a step away from her. “Leave the key on the table when you go.”
Leonidas turned his back on her and went into the bedroom, closing the door. Chloe stood frozen, staring at the scene. She opened her mouth to say something, anything, but no words came out. She should have demanded an explanation, but her mind went blank. At last, she dragged herself out, leaving the keys on the table, her trembling hands fumbling with the doorknob before finally stepping outside.
None of it made sense, but she would rather not search for reasons. Phoenix’s dry air burned her eyes and throat, and not even her tears eased the sting. She wandered for hours, considering going home, until her phone finally lit up with a new notification. Hoping it was Leonidas, regretful, she checked the screen and froze at the message:
“Please, Chloe, I need your help. I’m at the bar where I first met Megan.”
She sighed in disappointment, blocked the phone, and shoved it into her purse. She walked a few more steps before finally entering the bustling bar. Cutting through the crowd of unfamiliar faces, she spotted one she knew well.
At the counter in front of the bar, she found Ruan, her brother-in-law.

HER ALPHA, HER SAVIOUR
Kane Hellboud, charm and wealth personified, wanted only me in exchange for her treatment. No cameras, isolation, or noose-like rules were part of the deal. Behind his smile? Cold, violent possessiveness that destroyed our fake marriage.
Most of all, I didn’t know the supernatural walked among us, hiding in the cracks of ordinary life. Not until Abel Stone stepped into mine—dark-eyed, sharp-tongued, and oozing dangerous promises. He’s my new boss. He shouldn’t make my skin tingle or my pulse race. I shouldn’t feel this primal pull, this illogical recognition that tugs at something deep in my bones.
Around him, lights burst, electronics fry, and something ancient in me awakens.
Kane feels it. His grip tightens, punishments turn brutal, and he hides the truth of what I am.
Trapped between two powerful men, I’m no prey, no pawn—no helpless victim.
Prisons burn. Monsters bleed. As for me? I'm the storm in skin—deadly beyond suspicion.
Falling for my boyfriend's Navy brother
"What is wrong with me?
Why does being near him make my skin feel too tight, like I’m wearing a sweater two sizes too small?
It’s just newness, I tell myself firmly.
He’s my boyfirend’s brother.
This is Tyler’s family.
I’m not going to let one cold stare undo that.

I hate girls like her.
Entitled.
Delicate.
And still—
Still.
The image of her standing in the doorway, clutching her cardigan tighter around her narrow shoulders, trying to smile through the awkwardness, won’t leave me.
Neither does the memory of Tyler. Leaving her here without a second thought.
I shouldn’t care.
I don’t care.
It’s not my problem if Tyler’s an idiot.
It’s not my business if some spoiled little princess has to walk home in the dark.
I’m not here to rescue anyone.
Especially not her.
Especially not someone like her.
She’s not my problem.
And I’ll make damn sure she never becomes one.
But when my eyes fell on her lips, I wanted her to be mine.
Vengeance of the Forsaken Luna
"Bella." Ethan's tone shifted, taking on that warning edge I knew too well. "Faye is vulnerable right now. She's terrified you'll resent her, that this will divide the pack. The last thing she wants is for this baby to come between us."
"Then you shouldn't have done it." I met his eyes squarely, letting him see the ice in mine. "Go back to your son."
"For fuck's sake." He dragged a hand through his hair. "How many times—it was artificial insemination. They used my sperm, yes, but Faye and I never—"
Bella let out a cold snort. Such brazen lies. Her mate had an affair with his brother's partner, and his entire family helped force her out with nothing, all to make way for the mistress to take her rightful position. Poor fool—he thought she was just an unwanted adopted daughter, easy to dismiss and control. He never knew the computer genius he'd been searching for was his own Luna.
Since he'd tainted himself, Bella was done. She rejected him and reclaimed what was hers, rising to the top with help from Victor, who'd been secretly in love with her for years.
When Ethan tried winning her back: "You don't want our child growing up fatherless."
Bella smiled mockingly. "The child's father isn't you."
Rise of the Banished She-Wolf
That roar stole my eighteenth birthday and shattered my world. My first shift should have been glory—blood turned blessing into shame. By dawn they'd branded me "cursed": cast out by my pack, abandoned by family, stripped of my nature. My father didn't defend me—he sent me to a forsaken island where wolfless outcasts were forged into weapons, forced to kill each other until only one could leave.
On that island I learned the darkest edges of humanity and how to bury terror in bone. Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.

Before she could formulate a witty remark, Matteo threw her down. She landed hard on her back atop his dining room table. She tried to sit up when she noticed what he was doing. His hands were working on his belt. It came free of his pants with a violent yank. She collapsed back on her elbows, her mouth gaping open at the display. His face was a mask of sheer determination, his eyes were a dark gold swimming with heat and desire. His hands wrapped around her thighs and pulled her to the edge of the table. He glided his fingers up her thighs and hooked several around the inside of her panties. His knuckles brushed her dripping sex.
“You’re soaking wet, Genevieve. Tell me, was it me that made you this way or him?” his voice told her to be careful with her answer. His knuckles slid down through her folds and she threw her head back as she moaned. “Weakness?”
“You…” she breathed.

The Alpha's Stripper Mate
"What?" It was out of my mouth before I could stop it. I did not wait for him to answer me, I walked toward him.
"Dance on my lap."
My head screamed at me to turn around and run. But my whole body responded to his command.
"Yes, Alpha," I pulled my dress over my body, it dropped over my head and fell to the ground behind me. I was left in nothing but my matching bra and thong. My hands covered my chest on reflex.
"Let me see."
My hands dropped to my sides.
I lowered myself into his lap, facing him. His eyes peered into mine, and I could feel his hot breath fan my face. His dick responded to all my moves, hardening against my now-moist vagina. I swallowed hard, allowing my lips to part in a ragged breath. His hands trailed up to my waist.
"No touching."
