Introduction

Mary considers that her mom's death is a mystery that she has to solve all this time, especially since her father is always seen hiding the truth.

During the eighteen years of her life, Mary had no friends because she often daydreamed about her mother. Until one day, she meets an old man who says that a woman was killed who is still taking revenge on the occupants of house number 367 which is where Mary lives. Is that really her mom?

Chapter 1

It was another day, week, and year. Today was the day that I finally got back to school. Spring has ended and bees are back to buzzing, especially the wild pigs that run around at school. But today felt different, I was actually excited to go back to school for some random reason. I didn't have friends nor did I want any really.

"Mary, dear! It's time to get up for school!" Mom yelled throughout the house, even when it was unnecessary.

"I'm up! I'm up..." I groaned, lifting myself up from the mattress. My hair was covered with frizzy magnitudes.

I had a hard time falling asleep last night. The springs of the mattress were stabbing me in my sides; which bothered me a whole lot. Maybe I should ask for a new one? I grumbled as I went towards my closet, grabbing a light pink dress that was made out of a soft material.

After I got dressed, I grabbed a white hair tie and an old fashioned watch off of my dresser; even my android cell phone that was on my nightstand.

I walked down the stairs, seeing mom making breakfast. I sat down at the breakfast corner, watching her set up the table.

"Today's breakfast is blueberry waffles and bacon, hope that will be enough to call it breakfast." She smiled softly, making subtle eye contact.

I nodded, "That will do." I yawned, "Is dad gonna be eating breakfast this time? He didn't yesterday." I asked.

"Hmm..." She hummed, "Not sure." She replied, going back to get the waffles out of the toaster, and the bacon out of the microwave. I guess cooking is much easier.

"Will he be going to work today?" I asked her another question.

"No, he won't be since he's feeling unwell." She sighed, she grabbed the maple syrup out of one of the cabinets. "Want maple syrup on your waffles?" She asked.

"No thanks, I like my waffles plain. But how is he unwell? What happened?" I rest my head on one of my hands. "Well..." She continued, "Last night, when he came back home from work he said that he wasn't feeling very well, he said that he got food poisoning." She sighed.

I nodded.

"Well here's your breakfast." She walked over towards the table, placing the plate of waffles and bacon right in front of me.

"Thanks." I smiled softly, tearing up the waffles into smaller pieces.

"I will go wake up your brother." She patted my shoulder gently before walking upstairs.

Dad was in the living room, holding an opened up newspaper. Could say that he's old fashioned. I stood up from the chair, walking towards the entrance of the living room trying to get a peak.

"Dad?" I called out, hearing subtle breathing.

I tip-toed closer, this time I start hearing silent noises coming from him; sounds like snoring. Guess he fell asleep. I went back to the breakfast table as mom and Edson, my little brother, who was born on February 12, 2008, came walking down the stairs.

I continued eating my breakfast.

Meanwhile, mom was making a plate for Edson. I stared at Edson for a little bit, not realizing it until he said something. "What? Why are you looking at me weird?" He said, having a funny look on his face.

"No reason really. Just thinking how I should beat you." I smiled, being sarcastic with him.

"Be nice, Mary." Mom sighed, leaning against the counter while holding a cup of coffee.

"What? I'm just joking." I paused, "Maybe..."

Mom shook her head, I could tell she was a bit disappointed to hear such things. "You better be joking." She sighed.

I was halfway done eating, having a tiny piece of bacon left. Edson, the one who is only half awake still has more than half of a plate of food.

"I'm going to be leaving soon." I said, breaking the silence.

Mom nodded, "Alright, you have a safe trip to school, alright?" She said, giving me her 'eagle eyes'.

I nodded my head, standing up to put on my shoes.

Mom handed me my flannel bag, "Don't be such a stranger towards your own mom, okay?" She said, sounding a bit concerned.

"Step-mom," I added. This woman isn't my birth mother but I sometimes tell myself that she was my actual mother. I guess I never got over her. My birth mother was named Ashlyn, she was soft-hearted, but dad always gets her other side out. Mom and dad had a fight when I was young, and of course this was when we were living in our old house. They were yelling at each other on the second floor in the middle of the night. I was getting a cup of water when I woke up in the middle of the night but when I was about to go back upstairs.

I saw mom at the bottom of the staircase. I can mostly remember her breathing so weakly, there wasn't much that I could do at the time. I was a little girl at that time, so what do you expect me to do? All I could was watch her die, she was staring at me. Her eyes were screaming for help. Dad didn't do much to help her other than taking her to their bedroom. He told me to go back to bed and to not worry. But I ended up going into their bedroom when dad was in the other room. She was covered in needles—-dad covered her in needles. Could say that's how I got my fear of needles. She ended up passing away after a few weeks. I can't help but remember that whenever I go into that room. Still haunts to this day.

I was walking to school, the school where a whole bunch of stiffs goes. Not every one of them was a problem but there were a couple of groups of different students; The popular girls, the athletes, the geeks, and the nobodies. I'm a part of the nobodies, this group doesn't stick together, everyone scrambles. All the nobodies know who is a part of the group which is more than half of the school. I guess we all tend to keep to ourselves, one thing that we have in common.

By the time I made it to the entrance of the school building, I heard muffled voices coming from my right. When I turned to take a look I saw Jeremy; he went missing for a while but I guess he came back after whatever happened to him. He looks a bit different, a bit more pale than the last time I saw him.

I looked away before the group of guys noticed. I walked inside of the building--heading for my first class. There was a small group of girls sitting in one of the corners of the room, they laughing and giggling with each other. I went to take my seat, putting the chair onto the ground. Other than the group and me, the classroom was empty; all the chairs were put on top of the desks, dim lighting, and the laughter of the girls echoed throughout the room.

I was minding my own business until one of the girls came over.

"Hey!" Kristin chirped, her hands were on her hips. Giving me the look that can easily annoy anyone--her face all stitched up with makeup.

"Uhm hi." I replied, raising my one eyebrow.

"So..." She paused before continuing a sudden grin grew on her face disturbingly. "Are you interested in sitting with me and the girls at lunch today?" She asked, leaning against my desk, making it move a bit.

"No thanks." I sighed, leaning back against the chair.

"Oh. I was just wondering since you are always alone and I thought you were lonely." She smiled annoyingly.

"Well I'm not interested nor am I lonely but thanks for the offer."

Kristin left, not saying another word, she going back to the other girls in the corner. After a while the bell rang, a big herd of people came rushing through the doorway. All of them were students, the last person to come in was the teacher. When class officially started my mind went blank.

"Everything alright?" The teacher asked, her hand resting on my shoulder which brought me back to reality.

I nodded my head as a response, "Do you not have a partner yet?" She asked me before looking around the room.

"I do not have one." I replied, looking down at my hands. "I'm sorry, I must've spaced out a bit. What were we doing?" I finally said, my hands started to shake as I spoke.

The teacher explained what we were doing, she finally assigned me to a group which had Kristin and some other girl. I sighed, before going towards the two.

On my birthday, he took her on vacation. On our anniversary, he brought her to our home and made love to her in our bed...

Heartbroken, I tricked him into signing divorce papers.

George remained unconcerned, convinced I would never leave him.

His deceptions continued until the day the divorce was finalized. I threw the papers in his face: "George Capulet, from this moment on, get out of my life!"

Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.

When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.

"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"

George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"

"I'm afraid that's impossible."

Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."

"White wolf! Kill that monster!"
That roar stole my eighteenth birthday and shattered my world. My first shift should have been glory—blood turned blessing into shame. By dawn they'd branded me "cursed": cast out by my pack, abandoned by family, stripped of my nature. My father didn't defend me—he sent me to a forsaken island where wolfless outcasts were forged into weapons, forced to kill each other until only one could leave.
On that island I learned the darkest edges of humanity and how to bury terror in bone. Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.

I Slapped My Fiancé—Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis

Being second best is practically in my DNA. My sister got the love, the attention, the spotlight. And now, even her damn fiancé.
Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now—billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn’t mind. I’d crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one?
Wrong.
One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That’s when it hit me—he didn’t love me. He didn’t even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn’t even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup.
So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster—my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise.
Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol.
Enter him.
Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I’d met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes.
It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised.
But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life.
And, as it turned out, the best decision I’d ever made.
Because my one-night stand isn’t just some random guy. He’s richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with.
And now, he’s not letting me go.

Daniel. The brother I was warned about. The one who made Nicholas look like a choir boy.
He leaned against the wall, watching my world implode.
My pulse thundered. "What?"
"You heard me." His eyes burned into mine. "Marry me, Emma."
But as I stared into those magnetic eyes, I realized something terrifying:
I wanted to say yes to him.
