His Second Chance Regret
Sophie Langston · Ongoing · 54.5k Words
Introduction
Now, the man who once hung me from a tree kneels, begging for a second chance I will never grant. His “火葬场” is my masterpiece. Yet, in the ashes of his despair, I found a different solace—a gentle hand that had been reaching for me all along, even in my darkest grave.
Some fires are meant not to rekindle, but to clear the way for a new dawn. Let him burn. I’ve chosen to rise, and love.
Chapter 1
Jessica Martinez was jolted awake by a sharp ache in her abdomen and the stinging friction against her skin.
The moment consciousness returned, she realized she was suspended from the century-old oak tree outside the manor's main building in an extremely humiliating position.
Her eight-month pregnant belly was exposed to the cold air, rough climbing ropes passing under her armpits, between her legs, and beneath her swollen abdomen, securing her about ten feet off the ground.
The late autumn dew was cold enough to sting like needles, the chill creeping up her spine, draining the color from her limbs until her skin tightened into a field of goosebumps.
"Awake?"
A low, cold voice came from below.
Jessica struggled to turn her stiff neck and looked down—Benjamin Jones sat leisurely on a wicker sofa under the tree, wearing a black velvet robe and holding a steaming cup of black coffee.
"Benjamin..." Jessica's voice was hoarse and broken. "Let me... down..."
"What's the rush?" Benjamin took a slow sip of coffee. "You've only been hanging for half an hour. Don't they say pregnant women need more activity? Hanging like this should be good for the baby too."
He spoke casually, as if just chatting about the weather.
Jessica's tears welled up instantly. "I'm carrying your child... eight months along... how could you..."
"Oh, you know you're carrying my child?" Benjamin chuckled, the laugh devoid of warmth. "Jessica, when you were begging seven or eight men to take turns with you, did you think about the baby in your belly?"
She shuddered violently, shocked by his crude words.
Benjamin had found a series of videos on her phone.
In the videos, her pregnant belly was high and taut, her legs splayed.
A man gripped her thighs, his thick shaft moving in and out of her.
Two men kneaded her breasts, swollen abnormally large from pregnancy, squeezing so hard that milk sprayed out.
Someone was licking her pregnant belly.
Two men simultaneously shoved themselves into her mouth.
Her hands each gripped another man, her body covered in semen.
The whole scene was obscene and grotesque.
"Those were faked... it was Harper—"
"Harper again?" Benjamin cut her off, his eyes turning cold. "Eight months ago when you climbed into my bed, you also said someone drugged you. Now with these disgusting things, you're saying Harper faked them again."
He set down his coffee cup and slowly stood up, walking directly beneath her.
The hem of his robe swayed slightly with his movement, revealing his tightly muscled calves.
"Jessica, guess whether I believe you or not?" He looked up at her, his lips curling into a cruel smile.
The manor's servants stood at a distance, heads bowed, not daring to look.
The butler stood three steps behind Benjamin, eyes on nose, nose on heart.
Of course he wouldn't believe it—Harper, who grew up with him, who he depended on, who saved his life multiple times, couldn't possibly be a scheming, malicious woman.
"I didn't... I really didn't..." Jessica desperately repeated what she'd said countless times over the past six months. "That night I was set up..."
Hearing Jessica bring up the past again, the last trace of expression vanished from Benjamin's face.
The air seemed to drop to freezing.
"Really?" Benjamin's voice was terrifyingly gentle. "So when Henry brought reporters to accuse me of raping you, that was also a setup?"
Jessica's face showed pain, tears trembling in her eyes. "Shut up!"
Benjamin sneered and snapped his fingers.
Two doctors in white coats carrying medical kits hurried over, followed by three midwives.
They quickly spread sterile pads under the tree and laid out instruments with practiced movements.
Jessica's pupils contracted sharply. "What... what are you doing?"
"Since you love excitement so much," Benjamin sat back on the sofa, elegantly crossing his legs, "you can give birth right here. Outdoor delivery—good for the baby to connect with nature."
"No—" Jessica's scream pierced the sky. "Benjamin! You're insane! This will kill both me and the baby!"
"Die?" Benjamin raised an eyebrow. "Wouldn't that be letting you off easy?"
He tilted his chin toward the doctor. "Begin. No anesthesia—Harper needs to take medicine soon, and I'm afraid the anesthesia might affect its potency."
The doctor looked troubled. "Mr. Jones, the fetal position is normal, but she can't give birth in this suspended position. At least we need to lower her—"
"Then let her give birth while hanging." Benjamin's voice brooked no argument. "Doesn't she like being suspended? I'm doing her a favor."
Through the pain and haze, Jessica wondered what Harper had to do with not using anesthesia. What medicine? Why worry about affecting its potency?
But another wave of contractions hit, more intense than before. Jessica arched her body in pain, the ropes cutting deep into her flesh, blood seeping from the abraded skin.
"Her water broke!" a midwife exclaimed.
Warm fluid ran down the inside of her thighs, across her body, dripping bit by bit onto the sterile pad.
Another violent contraction, and Jessica nearly lost consciousness from the pain.
She could feel the baby being born, that sensation of being torn apart alive making her howl like an animal.
"The head is crowning! Ma'am, push! Push!" the midwife shouted anxiously.
But the suspended position made delivery nearly impossible.
Jessica used every ounce of strength, her nails digging deep into her palms, blood dripping between her fingers.
Her vision began to darken, her ears filled only with heavy breathing and her heart pounding on the verge of collapse.
"Mr. Jones, this won't work! The baby can't come out—it'll suffocate eventually!" the doctor said, sweating profusely.
Benjamin stared at Jessica's face twisted in agony, silent for a few seconds.
Then he said, "Lower her."
The ropes were released, and Jessica fell like a puppet with cut strings, caught by the doctors and midwives and laid flat on the sterile pad.
Before she could even catch her breath, the next fierce contraction crashed over her like a tidal wave, forcing another tearing scream from her throat.
Her pelvis was stretched to its limit. She could clearly feel the baby's head slowly but steadily pushing outward, compressing every inch of muscle in the birth canal.
"I can see it! Push harder!"
Jessica used the last of her strength, letting out a tearing roar, and then a baby's weak cry rang out.
"It's a boy!"
Benjamin walked over, looking down at Jessica lying on the ground.
The midwife held the baby up for him to see. He looked away in disgust and ordered, "Take it away and dispose of it."
He turned to leave but felt a weak tug on his pant leg.
Benjamin looked down. Jessica used her last bit of strength to ask, "What do you mean, 'dispose of it'?"
Benjamin's lips curved into a smile. "Jessica, you didn't actually think I let you give birth to this child so I could raise this bastard, did you? Harper's heart condition needs a living infant's heart as medicine. Otherwise, you would have died along with Henry long ago."

The Biker's Fate
I squeezed my eyes shut.
"Dani," he pressed. "Do you get me?"
"No, Austin, I don't," I admitted as I pulled my robe closed again and sat up. "You confuse me."
He dragged his hands down his face. "Tell me what's on your mind."
I sighed. "You're everything my parents warned me against. You're secretive, but you're also honest. I feel wholly protected by you, but then you scare me more than anyone I've ever known. You're a bad boy, but when I dated a so-called good one, he turned out to be the devil, so, yeah, I don't get you because you're not what I expected. You drive me crazier than anyone I've ever met, but then you make me feel complete. I'm feeling things I don't quite know how to process and that makes me want to run. I don't want to give up something that might be really, really good, but I also don't want to be stupid and fall for a boy just because he's super pretty and makes me come."

What? No—wait… oh Moon Goddess, no.
Please tell me you're joking, Lex.
But she's not. I can feel her excitement bubbling under my skin, while all I feel is dread.
We turn the corner, and the scent hits me like a punch to the chest—cinnamon and something impossibly warm. My eyes scan the room until they land on him. Tall. Commanding. Beautiful.
And then, just as quickly… he sees me.
His expression twists.
"Fuck no."
He turns—and runs.
My mate sees me and runs.

I Slapped My Fiancé—Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis
Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now—billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn’t mind. I’d crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one?
Wrong.
One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That’s when it hit me—he didn’t love me. He didn’t even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn’t even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup.
So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster—my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise.
Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol.
Enter him.
Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I’d met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes.
It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised.
But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life.
And, as it turned out, the best decision I’d ever made.
Because my one-night stand isn’t just some random guy. He’s richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with.
And now, he’s not letting me go.
The War God Alpha's Arranged Bride

Falling for my boyfriend's Navy brother
"What is wrong with me?
Why does being near him make my skin feel too tight, like I’m wearing a sweater two sizes too small?
It’s just newness, I tell myself firmly.
He’s my boyfirend’s brother.
This is Tyler’s family.
I’m not going to let one cold stare undo that.

As a ballet dancer, My life looks perfect—scholarship, starring role, sweet boyfriend Tyler. Until Tyler shows his true colors and his older brother, Asher, comes home.
Asher is a Navy veteran with battle scars and zero patience. He calls me "princess" like it's an insult. I can't stand him.
When My ankle injury forces her to recover at the family lake house, I‘m stuck with both brothers. What starts as mutual hatred slowly turns into something forbidden.
I'm falling for my boyfriend's brother.

I hate girls like her.
Entitled.
Delicate.
And still—
Still.
The image of her standing in the doorway, clutching her cardigan tighter around her narrow shoulders, trying to smile through the awkwardness, won’t leave me.
Neither does the memory of Tyler. Leaving her here without a second thought.
I shouldn’t care.
I don’t care.
It’s not my problem if Tyler’s an idiot.
It’s not my business if some spoiled little princess has to walk home in the dark.
I’m not here to rescue anyone.
Especially not her.
Especially not someone like her.
She’s not my problem.
And I’ll make damn sure she never becomes one.
But when my eyes fell on her lips, I wanted her to be mine.
Invisible To Her Bully
Rise of the Banished She-Wolf
That roar stole my eighteenth birthday and shattered my world. My first shift should have been glory—blood turned blessing into shame. By dawn they'd branded me "cursed": cast out by my pack, abandoned by family, stripped of my nature. My father didn't defend me—he sent me to a forsaken island where wolfless outcasts were forged into weapons, forced to kill each other until only one could leave.
On that island I learned the darkest edges of humanity and how to bury terror in bone. Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.
My Possessive Alpha Twins For Mate
My drunk stepfather remained indifferent, his weight suffocating, making it hard to breathe as my heart raced.
Suddenly, the door slammed open, and two figures burst in.
"Get off her!" a deafening roar echoed.
I didn't expect the twin brothers who'd bullied me at school to come charging in like gods to save me.
After my grandmother passed, I had to move in with my mom and stepdad, who treated me like a servant. I prayed every day for my 18th birthday to come, so l could leave and escape this broken home.
However, on my first day at my new school, l encountered the legendary twins everyone feared.
To make matters worse, the Moon Goddess revealed they were both my mates!
After helping me out with my stepdad, my twin mate cornered me, played with my hair, and whispered possessively, "You belong to us, our little mate..."
The Biker Alpha Who Became My Second Chance Mate
"You're like a sister to me."
Those were the actual words that broke the camel's back.
Not after what just happened. Not after the hot, breathless, soul-shaking night we spent tangled in each other's arms.
I knew from the beginning that Tristan Hayes was a line I shouldn't cross.
He wasn't just anyone, he was my brother's best friend. The man I spent years secretly wanting.
But that night... we were broken. We had just buried our parents. And the grief was too heavy, too real...so I begged him to touch me.
To make me forget. To fill the silence that death left behind.
And he did. He held me like I was something fragile.
Kissed me like I was the only thing he needed to breathe.
Then left me bleeding with six words that burned deeper than rejection ever could.
So, I ran. Away from everything that cost me pain.
Now, five years later, I'm back.
Fresh from rejecting the mate who abused me. Still carrying the scars of a pup I never got to hold.
And the man waiting for me at the airport isn't my brother.
It's Tristan.
And he's not the guy I left behind.
He's a biker.
An Alpha.
And when he looked at me, I knew there was no where else to run to.
