Chapter 1
I fluttered my eyes open to a numbing pain in the nape of my neck. My head stung from the flat noise that rang in my ears.
I couldn't help but wince in pain as I forcefully willed myself up.
It wasn't until a short while after that I finally regained my senses, only to find my surrounding strange.
" Ugh!" I unknowingly let out a soft wimp from the painful ache that twinged all over my body as I stirred in bed. I reached to find and rub the spot where it hurt the most while I tried to look past the pain to figure out just where I was...
Darkness loomed all around, leaving only a faint, eerie haze that clung to the edges of my vision. There was nothing but grim dimness when I looked around, my memory just as void and hazy.
With the stench of waste, dirt and rot permeating the dusty small space, I couldn't help but scrunch my nose and hastily look to recover how I even got here in the first place.
Cling!
A jolt of terror shot through me when I lurched away from the bed, the harsh clang of metal echoed through the room, pinning me in place.
I instantly felt a dreadful churn in my gut, my heart jumped in fright!
Feeling the restriction on my ankle, I realized I was cuffed to the bed frame in chained shackles!
Creak!
Just when I was racing in my thoughts as to what was going on, I heard the door open.
Someone is here!
I held my breath as I stared intently as if to see through the darkness before me.
Thud!
My heart thumped and raced, beating loudly in my head at the sound of the door shutting.
Click! Click!
I slowly retreated as their footstep drew nearer, my gaze fixed on the dark silhouette that slowly grew discernable with each step. Panic grew evident in me as I drew heavy breaths.
" Alyssa..." My name dripped from the silhouette, and then, a familiar face loomed before me, expressing a gloomy let-down.
Like a dart on the bullseye, the sight of his face struck my memory.
I couldn't help but frown as I recollected the incidents that had led me here.
" W-what do you want?!" I snarled, jolting out of my perplexed daze and retreating even further to the wall behind me when I heard his heels click right in front of me.
Looking into his mesmerizing bright blue eyes, I felt a sting in my throat. The fact that I used to adore those eyes, not knowing they belonged to a monster.
I had never felt so betrayed.
If anything, I hated myself for having been so vulnerable to him all in the name of love.
" Darling, I'm..." His voice broke when he tried to speak. I could tell that he was sincerely regretful, as his iris shook at the sight of me recoiling away from him.
But my hatred towards him only rose.
How did I even fall for this madman?!
" I... I know I should have told you-"
' Oh what, that you're a werewolf!? Don't worry, I know now! And I definitely want nothing to do with you, monster!' I barked silently in retort. I was still shocked that beings like him exist, but that wasn't my issue.
Is he seriously trying to talk me into accepting what he is? He really believes that I would still harbor love for him after what he'd done?
' I am being held captive by you and your god-damned family for crying out loud!' I wanted to say, but I decided not to. However, I knew he could tell just what I was thinking from the look on his face.
He stared at me for the longest, his eyes cold and cruel, yet frighteningly calm.
Did I say too much?
I shuddered when he suddenly crouched closer to me and reached to cup my face. I couldn't help but move my face away in fear, thinking he was going to hit me.
I shut my eyes tight, waiting for the impact. However, it never came.
I slowly opened my eyes, to see his hands clenched right in front of me.
Scared and baffled, I looked at him, his reddened eyes a bit watery.
Is he sad?
" You're... You're afraid of me..." He muttered in a dejected voice, looking at his hands as if they weren't his.
Monster!
" I thought you would..." He reached to touch my face once again, trailing off his words as he did, but I just shot my head back and looked away from him.
I don't know why, but I had mixed feelings the more I saw him being like this.
I felt nothing but hatred, fright, and disgust towards him right now. The butterflies that would flutter in my stomach at his touch were now nothing but toxic churns of resentment, writhing like snakes and settling heavy in my guts.
Seeing my reaction, he shook his head and stood back.
" Hah! I guess I was right to have brought you here before you found out yourself. I thought I wouldn't have to, but sadly, I had a feeling this would happen" He sighed out loud, his tone calm and almost devoid of emotion, contrary to his prior countenance.
" It's fine. You can resent me all you like, but that's only until tonight. After all, the full moon is almost in view..." He stepped closer, grabbing my jaw with his fingers in one swift motion.
" No!" I fought to break free but his grip was insanely strong. I could barely move my head at all. I tried to push him away but he just caught my hands, effortlessly holding me in place with his unnatural strength.
Seeing his eyes gaining a cold golden hue, I froze in place, my heart racing in sheer fright.
This isn't the Carl I know!
Even worse, he was nearing his face to mine!
I had never been so scared!
" Right now, I won't force you" He muttered, his breath hot against my face. He neared his lips to my ears the next instance.
" But once I have you turned, we'll be the same. And then, you'll understand why I'm doing all of this..." He leaned to whisper in my ears, his voice husky as he muttered tender threats that felt like a sudden toll of doom promising forever.
I stiffened at the realization of his words
My eyes widened in shock, disbelief clouded by an overwhelming sense of dread.
' No!' I tried to utter, but I couldn't bring myself to, seeing the evil smirk on his face when he pulled back. I was speechless, partly horrified at the thought that I was going to be turned into... a werewolf!?
" Very soon my love" He mused, standing straight and turning to leave.
I could only watch as he walked out of the room, my heart racing in panic as opposed to my dumbfoundedness.
" No..." I muttered in a daze, my tone didn't do just enough to convince me that I wouldn't be turned just as he'd said. I knew quite well that I couldn't resist if I wanted to.
' After all...' I subconsciously looked down at my leg chained to the wrought-iron bedframe.
I've already come this far...

His deceptions continued until the day the divorce was finalized. I threw the papers in his face: "George Capulet, from this moment on, get out of my life!"
Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.
When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.
"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."

She shoved me again. Harder.
"Maybe if you weren't such a desperate little—"
I fell. My head cracked against the corner.
Warmth trickled down my neck. Blood.
Their laughter turned to gasps.
The door slammed.
I tried to stand. Couldn't. The room was spinning, fading to black.

A Lesson in Magic
Claimed by the Alpha's Love
Four years ago, Fiona's meticulously planned conspiracy turned me from an ordinary omega into a prisoner carrying the weight of a murder charge.
Four years later, I return to a world that has changed beyond recognition.
My best friend Fiona, who is also my stepsister, has become the perfect daughter in my mother's eyes. And my ex-boyfriend, Ethan, is about to hold a high-profile mating ceremony with her.
The love, family bonds, and reputation that I once cherished have all been taken by Fiona.
Just when I had reached my breaking point, questioning the very purpose of my existence, the legendary Alpha Lucas of Moonhaven suddenly appeared in my life.
He is powerful and enigmatic, a figure that all werewolves hold in awe.
Yet, he shows an extraordinary persistence and tenderness towards me.
Is Lucas's appearance a gift from fate, or the start of another conspiracy?
I Slapped My Fiancé—Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis
Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now—billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn’t mind. I’d crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one?
Wrong.
One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That’s when it hit me—he didn’t love me. He didn’t even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn’t even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup.
So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster—my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise.
Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol.
Enter him.
Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I’d met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes.
It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised.
But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life.
And, as it turned out, the best decision I’d ever made.
Because my one-night stand isn’t just some random guy. He’s richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with.
And now, he’s not letting me go.
