Introduction
Chapter 1
In the ethereal twilight of reality, Jhon found himself suspended between two worlds: one vibrant and full of possibility, the other a labyrinth of sterile machinery and flickering monitors in a distant laboratory. Here, the universe pulsed with the rhythm of binary code, yet somewhere beyond the shimmering digital veil lay “No Man's Land,” a realm whispered of in legends both ancient and enigmatic. He was a wanderer, charting a course through an uncharted expanse, each step echoing the heartbeat of two existences. Ensnared in a world of pixels and data, Jhon traversed the wild landscapes of his mind, desperately seeking the magic that might mend the frayed edges of his heart, the price of which was a diamond—an offering to the guardians of the threshold.
As he ventured forth under a full moon adorned in Cancer's shimmering glow, that luminary blessed with the gifts of Mother Selene, he felt concurrently a thrill and a tether—a strange duality that whispered of transcendence and confinement. Reality ebbed and flowed like a river coursing through the crevices of perception, and somewhere, machines with their cold metallic embrace watched on, their algorithms dissecting every thought and emotion that darted through Jhon’s mind. He was a brave knight in a digital crusade, poised to face the specters of memory and longing. Now He is walking to No Man´s Land, abnd his mind will totally forget he is an human, an that is actually a virtual reality, so in this way He will feel and yhink eerything so deep and nature, like if it was for reality.
Jhon walks toward “No Man's Land” during a full moon in Cancer. An ancient legend from Celtic culture tells that the Moon Goddess, Mother Selene, opens a portal for tourists and non-magical people to enter “No Man's Land” by paying a price; they must surrender a diamond for their passage into “No Man's Land.” It is toward there that Jhon decides to begin a new journey without knowing the place of his destination; he hopes that magic and the unknown will heal his heart.
"I broke up with Alissa, and I will learn a lot from that, but my emotional world isn't over; I know I will heal my heart," he repeatedly tells himself. His eyes are a wild yellow, similar to the zenith sun on a clear, cloudless day.
He walks slowly, calmly, yet confidently, with a kind of emptiness in his heart that sometimes makes him feel light and other times torments him, making him feel as if his heart is burning in his chest. Generally, being in contact with nature makes him feel very good.
"The relationship with Alissa was just a part of my emotional world. When I was with her, I felt fuller; I felt I had more to give to my entire emotional world, to the people around me, and to my circle of friends."
"Yes, I understand what you mean." Jhon heard a melodious voice, so delicate that he might confuse it with the sound of bells or drops of water slowly falling from the wood of the port into the lagoon. He stopped for a moment to look for who was speaking to him, but heard no one. The mountain was clear, and everything around him was a sky free of clouds, the scorching heat of the sun, and a vibrant, clear, fresh air-filled mountain.
"Who are you?" Jhon asked in a slow voice.
"I am a fairy; you can hear me but not see me."
"Show yourself to me, magical being."
"I do, but as I said, you cannot see me; you have your eyes closed." At that moment, Jhon jumped slightly as he stumbled over a massive rock along the path; these were the stones that bordered his way to “No Man's Land.” He skirted the rock and tried to listen for the voice of the magical being, but it had vanished.
"In any case, even if you want to see me, you must cross No Man's Land; there you will discover all the magical beings without the veil of Maya, the veil of invisibility."
"If you are a fairy, can you read my thoughts?" Jhon wanted to know.
"No, only a fairy with the power of telepathy could; I am a fairy from the future. And I have come to guide you to No Man's Land; I cannot hear your mind, but I can hear your voice."
"You come from the future?"
"Do you want to tell me or warn me about something?"
"No, we are not allowed to reveal the future, but you should know that a great love awaits you in No Man's Land, an ancient love from past lives. She is the girl of your dreams," said the fairy, her words echoing with delicacy and an air of firmness that spread with the warm breeze.
"Love? Right now, I am looking to heal my heart. I can't think of loving anyone at this moment."
"That's okay; she is a magical being; she knows everything about love. She will also understand what your heart is going through right now, without the need for more words."
Jhon listened attentively and continued moving toward the path, knowing that if the fairy was indeed a fairy, she was right; by stepping into "No Man's Land," he could observe all the magical beings; that was why he was headed there.
He wasn't interested in finding out who that woman was that he was willing to love, nor why that fairy would come from the future to ensure his path. If there was something he had learned throughout his travels, it was that life eventually gave all the answers if one knew how to wait, but sometimes when the answers came, it was already too late, as Jhon generally escaped any situation that could hurt him, including women.
"Love is like a piece of cake; you will never run out of sweets. In fact, love is infinite; the fuller you feel, the more infinite everything you can give becomes. The more you give, the easier it is to love," said the invisible fairy after a couple of hours. To Jhon’s surprise, she continued to accompany him on his path.
"To love is a verb. The more you work on loving, the more efficient and productive you become. When I am in a relationship, I feel like a fuller man, with more to give to all my loved ones. But like any verb, sometimes the action requires too much commitment, more than I am willing to give."
"You are a man who has decided to live a life without limits; why would you put limits on love?"
"How could I put limits on love if I don't have one?" "But you will have one; I have come from the future to assure you of that."
"Even if that were the case, how could I set limits on someone I don't know?"
"Don't do it, Jhon, open your heart," whispered the magical being.
"But you are limiting your capacity to love because you broke up with your ex-girlfriend. You have more opportunities to love in your life; you can start by loving yourself."
"Loving has made me more decisive; the capacity and the beauty of the result of loving grow in my life."
"To love is to do things," assured the magical voice, which became more enigmatic to the point where Jhon thought he was going crazy, thinking it was coming from his head.
"But how do you love?" Jhon asked out loud, remembering the fairy said she couldn't hear his mind, only his voice.
"I don't care what the other feels; what matters to me is that I am giving, what I feel is love. Imagine." she said emphatically.
"So what you are saying is that for every human being, it looks different, and we have to determine what our daily actions mean love, with what makes me feel loved.
Everyone loves in their own way; one learns to love how they’ve been loved, then we start to reflect and begin to love in different ways," said the fairy.
"I like the person who makes me tea, breakfast; that is what makes me happy when I love. I enjoy giving love by making good people. That is the way I used to feel loved, but I think that’s how I liked my ex-girlfriend to love me."
"I wonder how I love; how is the way I feel loved?" said the fairy.
"For fairies, maybe it is more magical."
"And what about you? How do you love? The way you give love needs to be compatible with how the other person feels loved. And the way the other person gives love has to be compatible with how you receive love to feel loved."
"If I love you, I give you all my love. I am a man who likes to give himself completely," I said. At that moment, I finally stopped in front of a slope of stones that flowed into the beginning of a hill.
The sign read "No Man's Land" on a simple wooden board, but some Celtic runes drawn below the sign glowed enigmatically, and the white paint shone like mother-of-pearl on the old, worn wood under the sun's rays.

The Human Among Wolves
My stomach twisted, but he wasn’t finished.
"You're just a pathetic little human," Zayn said, his words deliberate, each one hitting like a slap. "Spreading your legs for the first guy who bothers to notice you."
Heat rushed to my face, burning with humiliation. My chest ached — not from his words alone, but from the sick realization that I had trusted him. That I had let myself believe he was different.
I was so, so stupid.

When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.
"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."

I fell. My head cracked against the corner.
Warmth trickled down my neck. Blood.
Their laughter turned to gasps.
