Introduction
Dean Morgan is one scandal away from losing everything: his career, his team, and the last shred of respect the league still pretends to have for him. Lucius Kemper is out of time, out of money, and out of options as his mother’s life hangs on a surgery he cannot afford.
So when Dean offers Lucius a contract instead of charity, they agree to a lie that looks dangerously real in the eyes of the world.
But behind closed doors, nothing about their arrangement stays simple. Because the more they pretend, the harder it becomes to tell where the act ends… and where something far more dangerous begins.
Chapter 1
Dean
"I want you to pay attention to what I'm about to show you." Ethan's tone was level, but I could still feel the heat of his fury.
I swallowed as he handed me the tablet, stomach churning as I stared at the glaring, red headline.
"Is our favourite party boy on another bender?"
"Mr. Hawke_"
The general manager raised a hand to stop me, his mouth pressing into a thin line. "I don't want to hear it, Morgan."
"This isn't what it looks like."
One eyebrow hiked up. "So you weren't plastered drunk and making a fool of yourself last night? You didn't have two blondes on each arm with your zipper all the way down?"
I narrowed my eyes at the photo and winced. "Well, no. I mean, yes, but_"
"Is that you in the photo, Morgan? Yes or no?"
I hung my head, cursing the moment I decided to step into that bar. In my defence, yesterday's game had needed to be wiped out of my head and what better way than alcohol therapy.
"So not only is your team playing like shit and throwing away every chance of getting to the playoffs, but you, the captain are also determined to ruin what little reputation we have."
At that my jaw ground together. "These photos are grossly exaggerated."
"I don't care for your damn excuses. The only truth that matters is the one being carried by the news stations and every blog that matters in the world of hockey." He roared, slapping his palm down on the table. "To them, you're nothing but a party boy, and that's all you're ever going to be until you do something about it."
"Sir, I can get Penny to_"
He let out a humourless chuckle. "You know, your reputation used to be bad, but now it borders on trash because they think you've chosen to sleep around and waste your life away instead of starting a family with Penny Spencer."
I winced at that, then winced again at the pounding in my head. I was still recovering from all the booze from last night, and now I was being verbally shredded by the GM. It was the perfect start to any day.
"I can fix this." I blurted out.
"Oh you had better." He leaned back in his chair. "We're losing sponsors, fan support, and even the love of our home city. Matter of fact, you're on thin ice, Morgan."
Ethan Hawke rose up from his chair and crossed over to the floor to ceiling windows. "The league thinks you're no good. The shareholders are saying you've got no more good plays left in you, and I'm tempted to believe them."
My eyes went wide with horror. "That's not true. I_"
"It's not me you need to convince, it's the world. I like you son, and I think you're a good player, but right now, you're a bad bet."
Bile crept up my throat, and I had to curl my fingers to stop them trembling.
"You have one month to convince the world that you're more than a party boy." The older man's eyes narrowed. "If you can't clean up your image and be the beast on the ice that you once were, you're done."
"Sir_"
"That will be all."
I knew a dismissal when I heard one. And without another word, I stood up and walked out, heart pounding in my chest. I knew I should be grateful that he was even willing to give me this chance, but all I could feel was terror and bitterness.
As I made my way down the hallway, my phone began to buzz. Relief washed through me as soon as I saw the caller ID.
"Dean, are you alright? I saw the headlines and they're brutal. I wouldn't read them if I were you." Penny rushed to say.
"Too late." I muttered. "Ethan Hawke just ripped me a new one and ordered me to get my shit together. How soon can you be in Boston? I need you."
Penny and I had met two years ago at a charity event, and since then, we'd been in a mutually beneficial arrangement. She was my arm candy for events and when I needed to get the press off my back, and I helped her evade the matchmaking pressure from fans.
"About that_"
I stopped breathing. "Penny. Don't."
"I just boarded a flight to London. I need a break from the paparazzi, the fans, the label, the fame." She sighed. "I'm sorry, Dean."
"You can't do this to me. Not now. Penny, you have to understand, I'm this close to being booted off the team. I'm about to lose everything." I whispered urgently, my fingers fisting in my hair.
"I wish I could help. I truly do." Penny said. "But I can't. And Dean, you deserve more than this. We both deserve to find people who truly love and care for us. I know your_"
Goddamit, I didn't want to hear her preaching about true love and what not. She could believe in all that fairytale bullshit for all I cared, as long as she was at my side in the next few hours to dig me out of this mess.
"This is an emergency. We promised to help each other."
"I've done my part." She hissed. "Don't you dare make it look like I haven't helped you at all."
"When will you be back?" I asked slowly. "You can take a break for a week or two and be back in time for_"
"I know the right woman for you is out there somewhere. You're never going to find her if you continue like this." She said. "I'm sorry Dean."
And then the line went dead. I stared at the blank screen for one second before letting out a roar and flinging it across the hallway.
Penny was dead wrong. There was no right woman out there for me. There wasn't even a wrong one.
But some truths were better left in the dark.

The CEO's Unspoken Love
Before I could answer, he moved closer, suddenly looming over me, his face inches from mine. I felt my breath caught, my lips parting in surprise.
"Then this is the price for speaking ill of me to others," he murmured, nipping my lower lip before claiming my mouth in a real kiss. It began as punishment but quickly transformed into something else entirely as I responded, my initial rigidity melting into compliance, then active participation.
My breathing accelerated, small sounds escaping my throat as he explored my body. His touches were both punishment and pleasure, drawing shudders from me that I thought he felt reverberating through his own body.
My nightgown had ridden up, his hands discovering more of mine with each caress. We were both lost in sensation, rational thought receding with each passing second...
Three years ago, to fulfill the wish of his grandmother, I was forced to marry Derek Wells, the second son of the family that had adopted me for ten years. He didn't love me, but I had secretly loved him all along.

Pregnant by My Husband's Rival Alpha
Those words should have destroyed me, but the truth was worse: I'd been used as a broodmare by the man who swore to love me, set up in a hotel room with a stranger because My husband Alexander Cross couldn't father children himself, and now I carried the secret babies of Damon Lester—the most powerful and dangerous Alpha in San Loris—while my own family replaced me with the daughter they'd always wanted. But when that same stranger's doctor appeared at my door, when twenty million dollars exchanged hands over a fake perfume bearing my secret identity, and when Damon's gray eyes locked onto mine with recognition I couldn't afford, I realized my carefully hidden life as the legendary perfumer Vera was colliding with a pregnancy that could cost me everything.
Could I protect my babies from the husband plotting my death, hide my true identity from the Alpha who's been hunting me for years, and reclaim the freedom I'd buried along with my dreams—even if it means standing alone against the wolves who see me as nothing more than a womb to be used and discarded?

After the Affair: Falling into a Billionaire's Arms
I’d appreciate all your support, thank you so much!
From first crush to wedding vows, George Capulet and I had been inseparable. But in our seventh year of marriage, he began an affair with his secretary.
On my birthday, he took her on vacation. On our anniversary, he brought her to our home and made love to her in our bed...
Heartbroken, I tricked him into signing divorce papers.
George remained unconcerned, convinced I would never leave him.
His deceptions continued until the day the divorce was finalized. I threw the papers in his face: "George Capulet, from this moment on, get out of my life!"
Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.
When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.
"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."
After One Night with the Alpha
I thought I was waiting for love. Instead, I got fucked by a beast.
My world was supposed to bloom at the Moonshade Bay Full Moon Festival—champagne buzzing in my veins, a hotel room booked for Jason and me to finally cross that line after two years. I’d slipped into lacy lingerie, left the door unlocked, and lay on the bed, heart pounding with nervous excitement.
But the man who climbed into my bed wasn’t Jason.
In the pitch-black room, drowned in a heady, spicy scent that made my head spin, I felt hands—urgent, scorching—searing my skin. His thick, pulsing cock pressed against my dripping cunt, and before I could gasp, he thrust hard, tearing through my innocence with ruthless force. Pain burned, my walls clenching as I clawed at his iron shoulders, stifling sobs. Wet, slick sounds echoed with every brutal stroke, his body unrelenting until he shuddered, spilling hot and deep inside me.
"That was amazing, Jason," I managed to say.
"Who the fuck is Jason?"
My blood turned to ice. Light slashed across his face—Brad Rayne, Alpha of Moonshade Pack, a werewolf, not my boyfriend. Horror choked me as I realized what I’d done.
I ran away for my life!
But weeks later, I woke up pregnant with his heir!
They say my heterochromatic eyes mark me as a rare true mate. But I’m no wolf. I’m just Elle, a nobody from the human district, now trapped in Brad's world.
Brad’s cold gaze pins me: “You carry my blood. You’re mine.”
There is no other choice for me but to chose this cage. My body also betrays me, craving the beast who ruined me.

A PRINCESS IN DISGUISE; BOUND TO THE ENEMY KING
I fell to my knees, the cold marble digging into my skin. I had studied for years in the flickering candlelight, memorizing every herb and poison to pass the healer's exam. I wanted freedom. I wanted to save my mother from the servant's quarters. I placed second. I thought I had won my life back.
But the King didn't give me a badge of honor. He gave me a death sentence.
"Raven Thorne shall be wed to the King of Grok," he announced, his voice echoing in the silent hall. Princess Ellie, the woman who had tormented me for years, slapped her hands over her mouth to hide her cruel laughter. She was supposed to marry the Beast. Now, I was the lamb being sent to the slaughter in her place.
They say King Liam drinks the blood of his enemies. They say he is more monster than man. And now, I have to walk into his bedroom, wearing the Princess's silk gown, and pray he doesn't tear me apart.
I looked at the King, tears streaming down my face. "I'll do it," I whispered, my voice trembling. "But my mother must be safe."
I sold my body and soul to a monster to save her. But when the carriage door opened and I finally looked into the Beast's golden eyes, I realized the terrifying truth...
He wasn't a stranger. He was the man I met in the woods.
