Introduction
Feigning submission, I waited for the right moment and fought back, killing them!
I thought the nightmare was finally over. However, years later, a stranger approached me.
To my shock, I discovered he was one of the criminals who had invaded my home all those years ago!
He hadn’t died! He was back to seek his revenge...
Chapter 1
"No. No."
"Please, we didn't see or hear anything today. Just let us go. Please."
Olivia Smith scrambled desperately to the other side of the bed.
Just as she was about to reach the edge, the scar-faced man grabbed her ankle and yanked her back, laughing.
Her trembling skin, highlighted against the bright red bedspread, looked even smoother and more enticing.
The scar-faced man's eyes turned red with lust. "Let you go? Why should I let you go? We risked our lives waiting here for an extra hour for you to come back. Why should I let such a beautiful woman go? I will definitely have my fun today."
"Hurry up, we need to get moving."
On the sofa opposite the bed, beneath a wedding photo, a young man in a white shirt stood up, buttoning his shirt as he spoke. His voice was deep and magnetic, but his words were as cold as a venomous snake.
Kneeling at his feet was today's groom, Olivia's husband, David Jones. David still held a medical suture needle and thread. He had just removed a bullet and stitched up the man in front of him.
David looked at Olivia, pinned under the scar-faced man, with a heart full of pain and despair. He clutched the pants of the man in the white shirt, pleading, "Sir, we won't say a word about what happened today. Please, I just saved your life. Let us go. We just got married today."
What was supposed to be the happiest day of their lives turned into a nightmare the moment they opened the door to their new home and saw these two bloodied men.
The man in the white shirt calmly finished buttoning up, then grabbed David and dragged him out of the bedroom. They had stolen business from their rivals and were chased all the way here. They had planned to find some food and rest before continuing their escape, but the scar-faced man saw the woman in the wedding photo and decided to stay an extra hour.
This was a bad idea, especially since their safety wasn't guaranteed yet. But after being on the run for so long, their nerves were stretched to the limit. A brief moment of relaxation didn't seem unforgivable, especially with the heavy rain outside washing away most traces and masking any sounds.
"David."
"Olivia."
Olivia reached out to David as she struggled. David tried to rush to her, but one was pinned under the scar-faced man, and the other was held by the man in the white shirt, unable to break free.
As the man in the white shirt continued to walk out, the scar-faced man suddenly spoke up, "Robert, leave the man here too. I've never had the thrill of doing it in front of a husband. Just thinking about it excites me."
Robert Davis frowned. Things were already out of hand today. If they each watched one person, they could still control the situation. But if David stayed in the bedroom, the two might cooperate and resist, leading to unexpected trouble.
His gaze fell on the scar-faced man's back, covered in scars. Robert swallowed his words. This was the friend who had once saved his life by taking a knife for him. He had no other vices, just this one lustful habit. They had already waited an hour; leaving the clearly terrified David in the bedroom shouldn't cause any problems.
Robert took off his shirt, tied David's hands tightly, and broke both his legs. "I'll wait outside. Clean up when you're done."
"Got it, Robert. I knew you had my back. I'll owe you my life, no matter how many times."
"Cut your crap. Just stay alive."
Robert cursed with a smile, then walked out of the bedroom, closing the door behind him.
"Alright, beautiful, let's continue. You just got married today, right? Has your husband had you yet? Are you still a virgin?"
The scar-faced man excitedly tore at Olivia's clothes. Olivia's mind was filled with the phrase "clean up." From the moment they opened the door, they had begged these two men, handed over all their possessions, and even revealed their professions, saving the man in the white shirt's life, all to survive. But these men hadn't blinked an eye.
She couldn't hope for mercy from them anymore. "Clean up" surely meant killing them, not tidying up the room.
She couldn't die. Her brother had just died in a car accident last year, leaving her elderly parents with only her. If she died, her parents wouldn't last long either. David couldn't die either. He was the only child of his parents, born when they were in their forties. They had saved every penny for him. If they died, his parents wouldn't survive either.
They had given up everything and endured this humiliation. They couldn't lose their lives, either. They had to survive.
Olivia stopped struggling and slowly embraced the man on top of her. "Sir, if I please you, will you let us go?"
The scar-faced man grabbed her breasts, kissing her neck roughly. "You smell so good. Other people's wives are the best. Don't worry, I'll keep you alive a bit longer."
"Sir, I can stay with you forever."
"Good, good. Hahaha."
Tears silently streamed down Olivia's face. She turned to look at David, who was struggling to crawl towards the bed. He was still a distance away, and blood was spreading from his legs.
Olivia bit her lip hard and held the man on top of her tighter.
Once. Twice. Three times.
When the scar-faced man finally finished the third time and tried to get up, Olivia clung to him, her voice sickeningly sweet, "Sir, I want more. Don't stop."
"You're such a slut. This must be your first time enjoying a man."
The scar-faced man laughed and pressed down on her again. Once more. And again.
Finally, David reached the bed, lifting his bound hands towards Olivia. Hidden in his sleeve was the surgical knife he had used to remove Robert's bullet. To avoid detection, the sharp blade had already cut into his skin.
Olivia, tears in her eyes, took the knife from David's arm and took a deep breath. The scar-faced man was kissing her chest, exposing his neck.
With all her strength, Olivia plunged the knife into his neck. The artery burst, and blood sprayed like a fountain, hitting the ceiling and then raining down on Olivia and David's pale, bloodless faces.
There was no turning back now.
Olivia stabbed the scar-faced man repeatedly, only stopping when she was sure he was dead.
David, gritting his teeth against the pain, leaned against the bed and pushed the scar-faced man off Olivia.
Olivia struggled to sit up, untying the shirt that bound David's hands. She clutched his hand tightly, tears mixed with blood streaming down her face.
David raised a trembling hand to caress Olivia's cheek.
They stared at each other in silence.
They both knew the man outside was an even bigger threat.
If they wanted to survive today, they had to deal with him, too.
In the living room.
Robert sat on the couch with his eyes closed, resting.
The rain outside had slowed from a downpour to a drizzle.
He opened his eyes and glanced at the clock on the wall. Over an hour had passed.
Why hadn't Nolan finished yet?
Robert frowned, got up, and walked to the bedroom door, knocking.
"Nolan, it's getting late. We need to go."
No response.
A sense of foreboding washed over Robert. Without hesitation, he kicked the door open.
On the bed, Nolan lay naked, his head hanging limply, eyes wide open in death.
In the next moment, David grabbed Robert's legs, and Olivia sprang from behind the door, plunging a scalpel into his chest.
Robert hesitated for a second, but his survival instincts kicked in. He raised his hand to shield his heart.
The scalpel pierced his palm.
"You piece of shit!"
Robert yanked the scalpel from his hand and stabbed at Olivia.
"Olivia, run!"
David shouted, clinging to Robert from the floor.
"Then I'll kill you first!"
Robert redirected the scalpel towards David.
"No! David..."
At that moment, the sound of police sirens blared.
"The cops are here. The cops are here," Olivia's despair turned to joy.
Robert's face darkened. He scanned the room and spotted Nolan's phone in the corner.
Somehow, the phone was connected to 911.
Everything that had happened today had been broadcast to the police.
"Good. Very good."
Robert laughed angrily.
He never imagined that he and Nolan, who had survived countless battles, would be brought down by a timid newlywed couple.
"You just wait. I will be back."
Robert threw the scalpel at the window, shattering the glass, and jumped out.
"No. No, please, let us go. We didn't see anything, we didn't hear anything."
"Please. Please..."
"Olivia, Olivia, wake up."
Olivia's eyes snapped open. There was no scar-faced man, no white-shirt man, only David.
They weren't in their old bedroom but in their new home in Silverlight City, thousands of miles away.
"David."
Olivia threw herself into David's arms, tears silently streaming down her face.
"David, it was just a nightmare, right? It didn't really happen, did it?"
David held her tightly, stroking her hair.
"Olivia, don't be scared. It's all over. We took down one of those guys, and the cops told us the other one got into a fight and got shot. We saw his body ourselves, remember?"
"But..." Olivia's body still trembled. "He said he'd come back. He'll come back for revenge."
David kissed her forehead gently.
"He won't. That guy is dead. The dead don't come back. And it's been three years. If he were gonna come after us, he would've by now. He won't ever come."
Olivia looked at David, seeking reassurance. "There won't be any more nightmares, right?"
"Right, Olivia. From now on, we'll only have a happy life. Trust me. Nothing like that will ever happen again."
To forget the past, they had moved with their parents to Silverlight City, where no one knew them.
They chose a home in the most populated neighborhood, and their work and daily routes were always in busy areas.
Such a thing would never happen again.
"Olivia," David stroked her sweat-dampened hair, "we've been married for three years. Let's have a baby."
Their parents had been anxious about their lack of children, even suspecting health issues.
Three years had passed, but Olivia still had nightmares. A child might help distract her.
"Okay."
Olivia nodded and kissed him.
Because of what happened three years ago, they hadn't been intimate for over a year.
David never complained, always staying by her side, comforting her, silently supporting her.
She needed to let go of the past and live a good life with him.
They were up until the early hours.
Predictably, they couldn't get up in the morning. Olivia took the day off, and David didn't clock in at the hospital.
They slept until noon, then went out for lunch and grocery shopping.
"David, I remember you said we were out of bee honey. Let's get some."
Olivia picked up a jar of bee honey from the shelf.
As she studied the label, she glanced up and froze, the jar slipping from her hand.
"Olivia, what's wrong?"
David immediately came over and put his arm around her.
"There... there..."
Olivia pointed a trembling finger at the gap between the shelves.
"There was an eye. That man's eye. David, he's back. He's back for revenge."
David's face paled, and he looked over.
He saw nothing but shelves and products.
He walked around to the other side, still seeing nothing.
"Olivia, there's nothing there. You must have been mistaken."
David led Olivia to the other side to look.
"No, I wasn't mistaken. It was his eye."
Olivia's face was pale.
Even after three years, she remembered Robert's eyes—cold and vicious, as if they could shoot daggers at her any moment.
David thought for a moment. "Olivia, let's check the security footage."
They quickly went to the store's security office.
"Sorry, the camera covering that spot broke yesterday and hasn't been fixed yet. But you can check the footage from the surrounding cameras."

My stomach twisted, but he wasn’t finished.
"You're just a pathetic little human," Zayn said, his words deliberate, each one hitting like a slap. "Spreading your legs for the first guy who bothers to notice you."
Heat rushed to my face, burning with humiliation. My chest ached — not from his words alone, but from the sick realization that I had trusted him. That I had let myself believe he was different.
I was so, so stupid.

“I thought you said you were done chasing me?” Gen mocked.
“I am done chasing you.”
Before she could formulate a witty remark, Matteo threw her down. She landed hard on her back atop his dining room table. She tried to sit up when she noticed what he was doing. His hands were working on his belt. It came free of his pants with a violent yank. She collapsed back on her elbows, her mouth gaping open at the display. His face was a mask of sheer determination, his eyes were a dark gold swimming with heat and desire. His hands wrapped around her thighs and pulled her to the edge of the table. He glided his fingers up her thighs and hooked several around the inside of her panties. His knuckles brushed her dripping sex.
“You’re soaking wet, Genevieve. Tell me, was it me that made you this way or him?” his voice told her to be careful with her answer. His knuckles slid down through her folds and she threw her head back as she moaned. “Weakness?”
“You…” she breathed.

On that island I learned the darkest edges of humanity and how to bury terror in bone. Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.
