Calista · Completed · 228.3k Words
Introduction
The silence of every guest in the room told me everything — this betrayal had been an open secret all along.
They expected me to fall apart?
No.
I raised my glass with a smile — a toast to this funeral they so carefully planned for me.
Chapter 1
Sienna’s POV
On the day of our fifth wedding anniversary, my husband Harrison Blackwood was openly cheating on me in a hotel room.
Staring at the lipstick stains smeared across that cold, devastatingly handsome face, I lost all composure. "Harrison, then what am I to you?"
The girl who shared my eyes and brows leaned into his arms, casually pulling up her bra strap.
"Don't worry, sis. I'm not going to destroy your family. Once Harrison's child has adjusted, I'll leave."
My entire body trembled with rage. I looked at my husband, and in that instant something seemed to tear apart right before my eyes. "Why does it have to be her? You two even have a child together!"
Harrison had only married me because Elena Whitmore left the country.
The moment she came back, she brought their son and made their relationship public.
I—his lawfully wedded wife—became the punchline of a joke.
Harrison didn't answer me directly. He turned to his secretary instead. "Marcus, take Mrs. Blackwood home."
I stared at him, tears streaming down uncontrollably.
Elena's voice floated over again. "Sienna, you've been married five years without a child. Adrian will be a good son to you, I promise."
"Just go. Don't make this more embarrassing than it already is."
From start to finish, all Harrison ever gave me was his cold, resolute profile. I laughed bitterly.
Five years. It was time I woke up.
When I turned to leave, tears blurred the path ahead. Marcus steadied my arm and pressed a check into my hand.
"Mrs. Blackwood, this is Mr. Blackwood's compensation."
I looked down at the check. One million dollars. I laughed so hard the tears spilled over again.
This was the man I'd loved all these years.
And yet I couldn't refuse it—because this was my mother's medical bill for the month. How ironic. With nothing to my name and only my salary to rely on, I couldn't possibly afford her treatment on my own.
"Understood."
That night, close to midnight, Harrison came home.
He wasn't the least bit surprised to find me waiting. He tossed his suit jacket aside carelessly, unbuttoned his shirt—every movement dripping with that effortless, arrogant sensuality.
"Adrian moves in tomorrow."
He was accustomed to authority. His tone left no room for discussion.
"I don't agree."
He didn't even look at me as his hands found the buttons of my clothes. "I'm not asking for your permission."
Of course. The only reason he ever came home early was to use my body. Never for anything else.
But there it was on his neck—a lipstick mark, bold and unmistakable. Elena's.
My chest heaved violently. I grabbed his wrist.
"Harrison, her mother is the one who destroyed my family. She's the reason my mom has been bedridden for five years."
"You're asking me to make room for your mistress's daughter—for your illegitimate son. What does that make me?"
Harrison stilled. He looked down at me from his full height, gaze cutting.
"Sienna, don't forget—if she hadn't gone abroad, I never would have touched you."
"You faked a pregnancy and turned it into a public spectacle. That's the only reason we got married. What, it's only been five years and you've already forgotten?"
His wrist flicked. Buttons scattered. I was stripped bare before him in an instant.
He'd ripped open the past as casually as he'd ripped open my clothes, grinding my dignity beneath his heel.
I tilted my head back to look at him, and every ounce of love left in my heart curdled into hatred.
"Harrison, I want a divorce."
He scoffed. His fingers trailed lazily from my chest downward, dipping between my thighs, lifting a slick thread of moisture.
"Sienna, could you really bear to?"
"You schemed and manipulated for so long to get here. You'd really give all this up?"
I couldn't speak. I was terrified that the moment I opened my mouth, all that would come out was a broken moan.
When he finally drove into me, it was like a violent wave crashing, obliterating everything in its path. His body was broad and powerful; pinned beneath him, I didn't have the strength to resist. And he knew exactly how to make my body betray me.
I lost count of how many times I came before I was too spent to lift a finger.
"Don't push me until I lose interest in your body too." He grabbed his suit jacket from the chair. "You love money so much. With the lifestyle I provide, raising my son should make you thrilled."
I seized a pillow and hurled it at his retreating back, tears pouring down my face.
"Harrison, you bastard. How can you humiliate me like this..."
Trembling, I picked up my phone and called my best friend, Luna Reed.
"Luna, I want a divorce."
"Can you find me a lawyer?"
"Sienna, what happened? Did Harrison hurt you again?"
I stared up at the crystal chandelier, my vision swimming with tears.
"I'm tired. I can't love him anymore. Luna, it hurts so much." My hand pressed against my chest. "Elena's back. Harrison wants me to raise her son..."
"He's gone too far!" Luna's voice exploded with fury. "If it weren't for that shameless mother-daughter duo barging in, slandering your mother's reputation—your family never would've been thrown out on the street drowning in debt."
"Sienna, I'm sending you a lawyer's contact right now. You are getting this divorce."
After I hung up, I wiped my tears dry and sat motionless for the rest of the night, memories washing over me like a tide.
When I first met Harrison, I was still Miss Price of The Price Family. My mother hadn't yet collapsed under the weight of betrayal, and he was just an ordinary employee at a mid-level firm. I fell for him at first sight and pursued him relentlessly.
The next time we crossed paths, I'd already been cast out of The Price Family. I went to a bar to drown my sorrows. He sat alone nursing a drink, and I slid onto the stool beside him.
"Want some company?"
He looked at me—then kissed me without a word.
In that moment, I was lost completely.
Desire was a drug. It made me forget everything—my father's cold cruelty, the debt collectors pounding at the door.
But a month later, I discovered I was pregnant.
That was also when I learned Harrison was the sole heir of The Blackwood Family.
He looked at me and said, "Let's get married."
After the wedding, we were sweet like any other newlyweds. For a brief time, I even let myself believe we weren't just together because of the baby.
That dream shattered exactly one month later. The day we returned from our honeymoon, Harrison received my medical report.
I wasn't pregnant.

BRUISED LOVE
The safe dorm.
The boring dorm.
What he got instead was Maverick Hale campus menace, underground street fighter, walking bruise factory, and the last person he ever wanted anywhere near his neat piles of textbooks.
Maverick doesn't care that he's broke.

His tutor.
His healer.

no longer can that be denied.
Opposites weren’t supposed to collide this way.
But they did.
Hard.
The Contract Wife: Marriage Of Malice
He didn't finish. He didn't need to.
I didn't tell him to stop.
Instead, my fingers curled into his shirt, clutching the fabric as though it was my only anchor. Something in him snapped—something he had been holding back for too long. His mouth found mine in a kiss that wasn't tender, but hungry, desperate.
I gasped into him, his hand sliding up to cup my jaw, holding me as if afraid I might vanish.
"You drive me insane," he breathed against my mouth, his lips trailing to my throat. "I can't lose you, Ella. Not you."
My head fell back, a soft sound escaping me as his fingers memorized my waist. My anger melted beneath his desperation.
"James..." I whispered, more plea than protest.
His hand caught mine, fingers threading together tightly. "I'll bring him back. I swear it. Just... don't turn away from me. Please."
The word please—low, ragged, almost broken—undid me more than anything else could have.
