Laura Roberts POV
One more day, I was so excited I could hardly keep myself contained. At this time tomorrow I will be putting on my wedding gown; getting ready to marry the long time love of my life, Devin Thomas.
We were the best of friends growing up and fell in love in our senior year of high school. We maintained our love through college and getting jobs, it was a wonderful time sharing that little apartment.
My little brother Adam joined us in our last year of college and though it was a bit cramped in our little one bedroom apartment we made it work, when Devin and I graduated, we left the little apartment to my little brother.
I loved my little brother, he had some trouble going through high School but he managed to make it through and I couldn’t be more proud of him. Our parents Michelle and Gary Roberts, doted on my little brother, in truth so did I. Adam just had that personality that made you want to be with him, he always knew how to cheer me up.
Now Devin is going to be a doctor soon, well technically he already is, but he has to do training under a resident doctor, so he can gain his own residency. I am happy as well, I am an RN, for now I am working in the Emergency Department at the same hospital as Devin, but I hope to be moved to pediatrics when an opening becomes available.
I pop another piece of watermelon in my mouth as I remember the night that Devin proposed to me, it was so romantic. He had it all planned out, he was so nervous that it took him three tries before he finally built up the courage to ask me.
We were at a dinner party for his father’s fifty fifth birthday, everyone knew what was going on except me. It was a lovely setting on the waterfront, just as the sun was starting to set.
Of course at that time I didn’t know why he was acting so strange, I thought that he might be trying to break up with me. Instead, just before I was going to demand he just spit it out and get it out in the open, he kneeled down on one knee in front of me and held out the ring box.
I was so shocked that I just stood there and nodded my head, I couldn’t form any words at all I was so stunned and happy. He picked me up and twirled me around in the air, as everyone applauded and gave out little whoops of happiness. His father was especially happy since it was something that he had been wanting to happen for a very long time.
It was a wonderful night, we made love out on the dock behind the boat house, the moonlight was the only witness to our unbreakable love. Devin is not only smart and knows me better than I do sometimes, but he is also very handsome. 6’2 Blond hair and bright green eyes.
I got compliments from my fellow nurses on catching him, he is so handsome that several of the nurses would try to gain his attention but he never seemed to notice them. They would tell me that his eyes would only light up when he would come to the ER to see me.
Now here I am twenty three acting like a sixteen year old, I have giggled three times now with just the giddy happiness of knowing that tomorrow I will be getting married to Devin and starting the next chapter in our lives as a married couple.
I took me ages to find the right dress and everything that would go with it, including my mother’s veil, that veil had been in the family now for four generations. I was honored when my mother asked if I wanted to wear it for my wedding.
I looked at the clock and realized that it was almost time to go, I had asked Sally if she would cover the rest of my shift tonight, I am going to surprise Devin with a new little red silk lace number. I have been saving it for the honeymoon but one of my friends at the hospital gave me my something blue, Devin is going to be surprised by that little number.
Gathering my things I got a text from Devin saying that he is on his way home, we were not supposed to see each other till the time of the wedding, but I don’t want to be that long without him.
I give out another excited giggle as I enter the parking garage to get into my car, I open the driver’s side door and there on the seat is a red rose. There was no note, just the rose. I bring it to my nose and take in its scent and smile. Devin was such a romantic.
I got in and put the rose on the seat next to me, it was still early so I decided that it would be even better if I were to bring some things to make his favorite dinner as well. I gave out another giggle as the thought of cooking dinner in the little red lace number came to my mind, I could picture the look on Devin’s face.
My phone buzzed just as I was pulling out of my parking space, it was my mother…
“Hello Mom.” I answered happily.
*“Hello honey, I was wondering when you were going to be home, so we can go over the last-minute details about the reception seating, I think there will be trouble if we put Aunt Edna and Aunt Louise at the same table, they are famous for not getting along and making scenes.”
“Well, Mom I am going to stop off at the grocery store before heading out of town, as for our two Aunts I agree; we need to put them as far away from each other as possible, I will contact Misty the wedding coordinator first thing and have her move them.”
“Oh thanks sweetie, I will see you when you get home, oh, since you are going to the store could you pick up more coffee, we are getting low.”
“Sure Mom, I am about to pull out of the garage so I am hanging up now, see you when I get home. It might be late so don’t wait up.”
“Late! Where are you going that you are going to be late? You are not going to go see Devin are you. You know that you are not supposed to see each other till the wedding.”
“Good night Mom.”* I said with a laugh, as I turned off my phone. I don’t like it on while I am driving, as an ER Nurse, I have seen way too much on what happens when you mix cell phones with driving.
It has been fun staying with mom and dad before the wedding, but I will be glad to go back to the apartment. It was Devin’s idea to stay separated for the week before the wedding. I thought it was romantic of him at the time, now I just want to be married so life can move on normally.
Mom and Dad are not easy to live with now that I had been our on my own for so long. I understand it is their house their rules, but they have to come to the understanding that I am not their five year old anymore.
I pull into the apartment buildings gated parking, pull up to my parking space and park. I look at my phone, it is later than I thought nearly 8pm. That’s ok though our wedding is going to be in the afternoon anyway.
I take my overnight bag that I always have with me in case I get stuck working an extra shift, and the grocery bag that had the items I needed for our dinner, and I make my way to the elevator. I was starting to get a little giddy with excitement, just as the elevator finally stopped on the sixth floor.
I walked all the way to the end of the hallway to the last apartment door, I sat down my overnight bag and fished out my keys from my coat pocket. I could hear music coming from inside, it wasn’t Devin’s usual music, it sounded like jazz.
Silently I entered the apartment, the music was loud and it was coming from the bedroom. I thought that my timing was perfect, he won’t hear me getting ready. If he is listening to music that loud in the bedroom, it means that he is trying to relax. Perhaps I am not the only one with wedding jitters.
I went into the dining room area and stopped when I saw what was on the table, it looked like Devin had already had dinner, that wasn’t what caught my attention though, it was the fact that the table was set for two.
I set my stuff down and shrugged it off for a little bit, but logic wasn’t going to give up the fight with my heart. I decided to go to the bedroom and ask who Devin had had over for dinner. I am not the jealous type as a rule but this was nagging at me. Perhaps it is more wedding jitters, either way I want to know.
I opened the bedroom door just a little just in case Devin was sleeping...
What I saw not only shocked me, but made my heart shatter into dust.

Luckily, in those four years, the mysterious husband never asked to meet in person.
Now, in the final year of our arrangement, the husband I've never met is demanding we meet face to face.
But disaster struck the night before my return—drunk and disoriented, I stumbled into the wrong hotel room and ended up sleeping with the legendary financial mogul, Caspar Thornton.

Lethal Web of Mafia's Revenge (Sequal to "Innocent in Mafia's Web)
He was a beast inhabiting this mansion, inflicting inhuman torture on my poor soul. He had created a living hell for me, this pitiful girl, within his castle.
On this cold winter night, he threw my wounded body into the icy pool, arrogantly enjoying it all, drinking and smoking expensive cigars. A satisfied, cold smile played on his lips as he reveled in my pain. His face was filled with the darkness of sin.
“How...more...am I…still…standing?” I stammered, my lips trembling.
Zain paused, thinking. Then, turning away from her, he replied:
“Until you die!”
With that, he left. As he wished. At that moment, my wish came true; I died.
But not in a frozen pool; I was struck in the head by a bullet from afar, blood splattering everywhere—that was far more gruesome.
My consciousness began to fade, but suddenly, I opened my eyes again and found myself mopping the floor in an ordinary restaurant.
I was startled: What happened? I was reborn? This is unbelievable!
Taste of Fate: The Vampire King's Human Mate
He reached for the back of my head and pulled me up just enough to reach my neck. When his fangs slid into me, the pain was instant, electric. I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t think. My hands found his shoulders, clawing for something to hold. My legs kicked. Tears streamed down my cheeks.
He moaned against my throat as he drank, and the sound was devastating.
The Pack: Rule Number 1 - No Mates
"Let me go," I whimper, my body trembling with need. "I don't want you touching me."
I fall forward onto the bed then turn around to stare at him. The dark tattoos of Domonic's chiseled shoulders, quiver and and expand with the heave of his chest. His deep dimpled smile is full of arrogance as he reaches behind himself to lock the door.
Biting his lip, he stalks toward me, his hand going to the seam of his pants and the thickening bulge there.
"Are you sure you don't want me to touch you?" He whispers, untying the knot and slipping a hand inside. "Because I swear to God, that is all I have been wanting to do. Every single day from the moment you stepped in our bar and I smelled your perfect flavor from across the room."
New to the world of shifters, Draven is human on the run. A beautiful girl who no one could protect. Domonic is the cold Alpha of the Red Wolf Pack. A brotherhood of twelve wolves that live by twelve rules. Rules which they vowed could NEVER be broken.

My heart sank, and tears made their way down my cheeks.

Pregnant by My Husband's Rival Alpha
Those words should have destroyed me, but the truth was worse: I'd been used as a broodmare by the man who swore to love me, set up in a hotel room with a stranger because My husband Alexander Cross couldn't father children himself, and now I carried the secret babies of Damon Lester—the most powerful and dangerous Alpha in San Loris—while my own family replaced me with the daughter they'd always wanted. But when that same stranger's doctor appeared at my door, when twenty million dollars exchanged hands over a fake perfume bearing my secret identity, and when Damon's gray eyes locked onto mine with recognition I couldn't afford, I realized my carefully hidden life as the legendary perfumer Vera was colliding with a pregnancy that could cost me everything.
Could I protect my babies from the husband plotting my death, hide my true identity from the Alpha who's been hunting me for years, and reclaim the freedom I'd buried along with my dreams—even if it means standing alone against the wolves who see me as nothing more than a womb to be used and discarded?
After One Night with the Alpha
I thought I was waiting for love. Instead, I got fucked by a beast.
My world was supposed to bloom at the Moonshade Bay Full Moon Festival—champagne buzzing in my veins, a hotel room booked for Jason and me to finally cross that line after two years. I’d slipped into lacy lingerie, left the door unlocked, and lay on the bed, heart pounding with nervous excitement.
But the man who climbed into my bed wasn’t Jason.
In the pitch-black room, drowned in a heady, spicy scent that made my head spin, I felt hands—urgent, scorching—searing my skin. His thick, pulsing cock pressed against my dripping cunt, and before I could gasp, he thrust hard, tearing through my innocence with ruthless force. Pain burned, my walls clenching as I clawed at his iron shoulders, stifling sobs. Wet, slick sounds echoed with every brutal stroke, his body unrelenting until he shuddered, spilling hot and deep inside me.
"That was amazing, Jason," I managed to say.
"Who the fuck is Jason?"
My blood turned to ice. Light slashed across his face—Brad Rayne, Alpha of Moonshade Pack, a werewolf, not my boyfriend. Horror choked me as I realized what I’d done.
I ran away for my life!
But weeks later, I woke up pregnant with his heir!
They say my heterochromatic eyes mark me as a rare true mate. But I’m no wolf. I’m just Elle, a nobody from the human district, now trapped in Brad's world.
Brad’s cold gaze pins me: “You carry my blood. You’re mine.”
There is no other choice for me but to chose this cage. My body also betrays me, craving the beast who ruined me.
