Secretly Dating My Alpha Hockey Stepbrother
Heavenly Dove pen · Ongoing · 63.8k Words
Introduction
"Stop," I whisper, but my voice breaks on the word.
Damon leans close, his breath hot against my ear, his voice a low growl only I can hear. "Your heartbeat says you don't want me to stop, little wolf."
He's my stepbrother. My hockey captain. My Alpha. And the mate the Moon Goddess bound me to before I even knew I was a werewolf.
I spent years believing I was human. Then his golden eyes found mine across a crowded rink, and something inside me woke up—something hungry, wild, and desperate for him. Now we steal moments in the dark, his body pinning mine against locker room walls, his teeth grazing the spot on my neck where his mark belongs. One bite and I'm his forever. One slip and our families shatter.
But the bond doesn't care about consequences. It pulls me to his bed, to his truck, to the deep woods where he teaches me to shift and I teach him to be gentle. Every full moon, the ache to complete the bond gets worse. Every secret kiss tastes like a goodbye we're too weak to say.
And now there's a second heartbeat inside me. His pup.
The pack will call it an abomination. Our parents will call it a betrayal. But when Damon presses his palm to my belly and whispers, "You're mine, Sky. Both of you. Let the world burn," I know I'll risk everything for him.
Because some bonds aren't meant to be hidden. Some are meant to start a war.
Chapter 1
Skylar Pov
The rain sounded like fists hitting the car roof. I was twelve years old, sitting in the passenger seat with my knees pulled up to my chest. My shoes were wet from running from the mall entrance to the car. Mom laughed at me, shaking water from her hair.
"You act like you're going to melt," she said.
"I hate rain," I mumbled.
"You loved it when you were little. You used to jump in puddles barefoot."
"That was before I had sense."
Mom laughed again. She had a loud laugh. It filled up the whole car and made the windows feel smaller than they were. I didn't know then that I would spend years trying to remember the exact shape of that sound and always falling short.
We stopped at a red light. Mom reached over and tucked a piece of wet hair behind my ear. Her fingers were cold from the rain, but her touch was warm underneath. It was the kind of touch that said you are safe without needing words.
"Your dad's going to be mad we're late," she said.
"He's always mad."
"He's not mad. He's just tired. Work is hard right now."
I didn't answer. I looked out the window at the rain running down the glass in crooked rivers. The streetlights made everything look blurry and yellow, like the whole world had been painted with old watercolors. The car smelled like her rose perfume and the salty ghost of the French fries we ate at the mall food court. I was full and sleepy and annoyed about being wet. That was all. That was the last normal feeling I ever had.
The light turned green.
Mom pressed the gas.
I didn't see the other car until its headlights swallowed my whole window in white. Mom screamed my name. Not words. Just my name. Her right hand flew off the steering wheel and shot across my chest, pressing me back against the seat like she could shield me with her arm alone.
The impact did not sound the way I thought crashes sounded. It was not a bang or a boom. It was a deep, grinding crunch that I felt in my ribs before my ears caught up. The sound of metal folding. The sound of glass turning to dust. My body slammed sideways against the seatbelt, and then the airbag punched me in the face with the force of something alive and angry.
Glass sprayed across my lap like tiny pieces of ice.
Then the car stopped moving, and everything went quiet.
For a long moment, I was nowhere. Someplace dark and soft. Then I blinked, and the world came back in pieces. The car had spun. My window was a spiderweb of cracks. Rain dripped through the broken glass and landed on my cheek, cold and slow, like someone crying on my face.
The engine hissed. Far away, a horn blared without stopping.
"Mom?"
My voice came out wrong. Small and thin, like a little kid's voice. Like the voice I had before I grew up.
She didn't answer.
I turned my head toward her, and the movement sent a hot spike of pain down my neck. Something warm was running under the collar of my shirt, spreading down toward my chest. I couldn't tell where it was coming from.
Mom was slumped against her door. Her head hung at an angle that didn't make sense. The airbag on her side had deployed, but the other car had hit us there, on her side. The door was crushed inward like a giant had pushed his thumb into it.
"Mom," I said again. Louder this time. "Wake up."
She didn't move.
I reached for her. The seatbelt locked tight and bit into my shoulder. I stretched as far as I could, my fingers straining, and managed to grab a fold of her jacket sleeve. The fabric was wet. Warm. I didn't understand what that meant yet.
"Please. Mom. Please wake up."
My hand was shaking. My whole body was shaking. I pulled at her sleeve the way I used to pull at her shirt when I was little and wanted her attention. A small, desperate tug. A child's plea.
She didn't look at me.
"Please. Please. I'll be good. I'll be so good. Just wake up. Just look at me. Mom. Mommy."
The word tasted like salt. Tears or blood, I couldn't tell anymore. Everything was wet. The rain kept coming through the broken window, cold on one side of my face while the other side burned.
Sirens. Far away and getting closer. Red and blue lights started spinning somewhere behind my eyes.
"Help!" I screamed. The word scraped my throat raw. "Somebody help us! My mom won't wake up!"
Headlights swept across the road. Doors slammed. Running footsteps splashed through puddles. A beam of light cut through the shattered window and landed on my face. I squinted and held up my free hand.
"Over here! There's a kid in here!"
The door on my side screamed as someone pried it open. Cold air rushed in. Hands reached for me—big hands, gentle but firm, unclipping my seatbelt and pulling me away from the seat.
"No," I said. I tried to twist out of their grip. "No, my mom first. Help her first. She's not waking up. Please, you have to help her first."
The hands kept pulling. A man in a dark uniform lifted me out of the car and into the rain. Over his shoulder, I watched another paramedic walk to my mother's side of the car. He shone a flashlight through the window. He stood there for a moment. Then he lowered the flashlight. He looked at the man holding me.
He shook his head.
I didn't understand. I didn't want to understand.
"Put me down," I said. My voice was high and strange. "Put me down. Why isn't anyone helping her? She's right there. She's right there!"
The paramedic carried me to the back of an ambulance. A woman wrapped a silver blanket around my shoulders. The foil crinkled every time I moved. She had kind eyes and a tight mouth, the kind of mouth that knew bad news before she said it.
"Sweetheart," she said. "What's your name?"
"Skylar. My mom is still in the car. Why won't you help her?"
"There are people with your mom. I need you to tell me if anything hurts. Does your neck hurt?"
"My neck is fine. Please. Please, you have to go get her."
The woman pressed a square of gauze to the side of my neck. When she pulled it back, it was dark red. She pressed another one on and held it there.
"You're bleeding, sweetheart. I need you to be brave and stay still for me, okay?"
"I don't care if I'm bleeding. My mom—"
"Shh." Her voice cracked just a little. "Just stay still. You're being very brave."
I stopped fighting. Not because I was brave. Because my body ran out of fight. The shivering took over, deep and violent, rattling my bones. The woman kept pressure on my neck and asked me questions I don't remember answering.
Through the open ambulance doors, I watched the rain fall on my mother's car. The red and blue lights spun across the wet metal. Someone pulled a white sheet from a bag and walked toward her side.
I looked away before they covered her.
The ambulance doors closed.
We started moving. The sirens came on again, loud and wailing, and I lay on the stiff bed with the foil blanket crinkling under me. The paramedic held my hand. I stared at the ceiling and listened to the sirens and felt something crack open inside my chest. A clean split, like ice breaking. I didn't have a word for it then, but I know it now.
Grief. The first breath of it.
My mother was gone.
I was still here.
And for reasons I didn't understand, that felt like the cruelest thing of all.

Invincible Upon Release: The Strongest Mage
Her family looked down on him, and even she herself said coldly: “You’re not worthy of being my husband.”
Everyone thought this newly released good-for-nothing was just a poor fool who’d taken the fall for his brother.
Thorne said nothing.
He merely raised his hand, gently pressing his bride’s forehead.
In an instant, the chaos in her eyes faded. Holy light surged from beneath the church, shooting into the sky.
The world’s only candidate for the Saintess, blessed with holy power, slowly opened her clear eyes before him.
Iron And Glamour Just Don't Mix
Well… Sometimes you just might turn out to be right.
It turns out, the fae stole my little brother. In his place? A pixie with boundary issues and a talent for home repairs.
I’ve spent my life taking care of everyone else. So when my baby brother is taken, I don’t hesitate. I walk straight into a faerie mansion and make a bargain with its infuriatingly charming master.
Kie is everything you’d expect from a dangerous fae, beautiful, political, and entirely too amused by me. Power wrapped in a smirk. Sensual, mischievous, and far too aware of the effect he has on people. He agrees to help me find my brother.
For a price.
Now I’m bound by a faerie bargain and navigating a world of glamour, manipulation, and ancient rules I definitely should have learned sooner, enchanted forests, political games, magical contracts, and a fae lord who treats seduction like a perfectly reasonable negotiation tactic.
Iron is how I keep people out.
Glamour is how he draws them in.
And apparently, they just don’t mix.
The Unbreakable Oath
The Rejected Luna’s Rise
Luna Ariana Volkstane slid the formal rejection request across the table. "Let's end this bond. It's better for you, me, and your first love."
He just smirked. "You want me to reject you? You think you can break our bond that easily?"
So she did. Ariana cut ties with him completely, poured herself into her career, and rose to global fame as a legendary healer, her knowledge of rare herbs, wolf anatomy, and ancient magic sought after across continents.
The powerful suitors lined up. The Alpha of an overseas empire whispered, "Ariana, hurry up and perform the severing ritual. I can't wait to claim you." A powerful pack leader vowed, "I'll be there with you the day you break the bond." A legendary wolf attorney promised, "I'll handle your rejection case with the pack council myself."
Ariana just rubbed her temples. It's not that she didn't want the split, she wanted it more than anything, it's just that the Alpha she was mated to refused to let go.
Finally, she announced, "Whoever can officially get me rejected, I'll put you at the head table of my bond-breaking celebration."
Not long after, Alpha Damian was served the official rejection request right in the middle of an emergency pack council meeting. That same afternoon, he was attacked by rogues at the gates of his own territory.
When Ariana showed up at the pack infirmary with healing herbs, she repeated calmly, "Let's sever the mate bond. It's better for you, me, and everyone else."
But the cold, untouchable Alpha pulled her into his arms, his eyes blood-red with fury. "You want me to reject you? Over my dead body."
The First Female Alpha
The man I was meant to marry—the rising Alpha, the pride of the Pack—thrusting into another girl like I didn't exist.
But I didn't cry. I didn't scream. I didn't even flinch.
Because the pain had carved me hollow long before he ever touched her.
He thinks I'm weak. That I'll stand by his side in two days, smile for the ceremony, and hand him my loyalty with the Alpha title.
But he's wrong.
I'm not the broken little Luna they think I am. I'm the storm they never saw coming.
The Pack worships him, but only I know the truth buried beneath his perfect lies. So I'll take everything he wants most—the throne, the title, the crown he was born to wear—and win it out from under him, in front of everyone who ever called me unworthy.
Screw the Pack. Screw the respect. Screw being tame.
I'm fury dressed in skin, madness wearing heels, and heartbreak turned into a goddamn weapon.
They wanted a loyal Luna??
Instead...
They created a monster.
And when the throne is finally mine...
The Pack won't remember the name of the Alpha who betrayed me.
They'll remember the woman who took his crown...
and became the First Female Alpha.

Chosen By The Lycan King
Tango with the Alpha's Heart
“He met her at the Alpha training camp,” he said. “She is a perfect suitor for him. It snowed last night, indicating that his wolf is happy with his choice.”
My heart sank, and tears made their way down my cheeks.
Alexander took my innocence last night, and now he is taking that thing in his office as his Luna.
Emily became the laughingstock of the pack on her 18th birthday and never expected the Alpha's son to be her mate.

The Rejected White Luna
"No... You can't do that."
Those words shattered Aria's world in front of the entire pack.
As the daughter of the Alpha of Silver Moon Pack, Aria was born with a powerful legacy. But with a weak wolf that could never shift, she became a disappointment in the eyes of her own people. She was mocked, ignored, and treated as a weakness instead of the future Luna she was meant to be.
She believed finding her fated mate would finally change everything.
Until Kael rejected her publicly and chose another.
"Because a mate who cannot shift is no mate at all. She's a weakness. And weakness spreads."
Broken but refusing to surrender, Aria leaves the only home she has ever known. But fate has a different plan waiting for her.
When she crosses paths with another powerful pack, Aria discovers a shocking truth: she has been given a second chance mate. The only problem? She never expected him to be someone who could change her entire destiny.
With a new bond awakening hidden powers within her, Aria is no longer the weak wolf everyone looked down on.
Now she has the chance to make those who hurt her pay.
But when Kael realizes the woman he rejected has become the one person he cannot lose, he wants her back.
Will Aria choose revenge, or will she find a love greater than the betrayal that destroyed her?

.
"I’m keeping her."
"What?"
Before I can react, he scoops her up. Her small body fits easily in the cradle of his talons. For a split second, she looks startled, but not afraid. Her hand rests against one scaled finger, and she stares up at him with that same curious wonder, as though she’s already forgotten she was ever meant to fear me.
"Put her down," I try to command, panic threading through my thoughts. "You’ll hurt her."
"She’s ours," the beast insists, possessive and fierce. "Our snowflake."
