They help her see that not everyone deserves a chance to be in your life. Relationships are a give and take, not strictly take. With each small lesson, they grow, they heal, their connections deepen.
As they uncover an intricate plot to overthrow Adrik and take over the city, they also discover that they’re not exactly what anyone would call a normal human. Each bodyguard, along with Sephie and Adrik discover that there’s something special about them. They each have gifts that will serve them well in what’s to come. Each gift complements the group and makes them stronger as a whole.
