Introduction
"That's the last of you, Cascata." The man said, looking at the wolf. He shoot again before escaping to the end of the dark alleyway.
Aunt Rita told me never believe werewolves. They were evil and nasty.
But I looked at the very hurtful wolf. I just couldn’t let someone die in front of me.
Running through the dim lit dark alley, again. I looked back cautiously. The brown beast of fury was chasing me. Growling away in the darkness, it was out to get me. I whimpered and turned away concentrating on my escape. I didn't want to die tonight.
"Run Veera!" Leo shouted, but then I saw him get stolen in shadows by a pair of black gloves.
It had been five long years, since I had seen those glowing eyes.
I hadn’t had this nightmare for a while. I dreamt about him after that night. I was chased, caught and kidnapped in the dreams but tonight, it felt so different.
"If you behave, I'll let you go."
Veera looked at her kidnapper and raised a brow. She wanted to cuss at him, but realised that was not going to be wise since he was an Alpha who she had saved from the brink of death five years ago. Plus, she was tied to the chair and her mouth had been tapped yet again since she freaked out and screamed at him like any normal victim in a thriller movie.

Chapter 1
Veera’s POV
I was on my way home from library at 11 PM, noticing the strong wind whirled the leaves. It was cold outside. The district was silent with no shops open on this freezing winter night.
My nerve was alerted so I wasn’t really familiar with this place and the strangeness always pointed to danger.
I just moved to this new town with my Aunt Rita a week ago. Feeling isolated with no friends, I decided to study harder. So the library became my daily visit.
I was just nearing when suddenly...
BANG!
I was buried in my thoughts when I heard the first gunshots. Then a powerful growl erupted, shaking the ground like a terrible tremor.
My heart skipped a beat. I quickly hid behind a big dark dumpster. I saw a man running with his gun, chasing a wolf.
An enormous dark brown wolf.
Chills ran down my spine as I watched the wolf fall to the ground, bleeding.
This time it was a loud growl of pain.
"That's the last of you, Cascata." The man said, looking at the wolf.
The man fired again before escaping into the dark alleyway. From my spot, I could only see him getting into a white van. I couldn’t recognize his face since it was covered by a dark hood but I would never forget his voice. Cold, ruthless, with vengeance.
Another loud growl made me jump out of my thoughts. The wolf was dying.
Should I save him? Or could I just walk away like nothing had happened?
A ring came through. Shit!
I quickly hung up the phone and removed the battery. I hoped the wolf wouldn't notice. But an angry growl came and I knew I was wrong.
Getting out of my hiding spot, I stood in front of a large wolf. I never saw a wolf as huge as this one. His eyes flashed blue as I approached.
He’s a werewolf.
My aunt Rita told me never to believe werewolves. They were evil and nasty. They took everything from us with their disgraceful abilities. “You should get right away and run as fast as you can if you meet a werewolf.” Rita always shook her head and said something like this, “you know what they did.”
Yes, I know what they did. But…
I looked at the deeply wounded wolf.
I just couldn’t let someone die in front of me.
Gathering my courage, I ran towards him. He snarled at me as I approached although he could barely move and was heavily bleeding out in black blood.
Black? Strange.
"Hey…" I forced myself to look at his terrifying eyes.
"I'm not the grim reaper, okay?" I tried to make some jokes. But he growled at me viciously. Apparently, he told me to fuck off. Leave it alone.
The last growl really scared the shit out of me. I stepped back immediately.
Time to go, Veera. You shouldn’t even think about it. Aunt Rita’s voice echoed in my head.
I knew it's not clever of me to get close to a werewolf. He could bite me anytime he wanted and rip me apart easily.
An ordinary girl like me could not be a hero.
But when I glanced at the wounded dying Were, something kicked in my heart.
He stared back. Powerful emotions swirled in his eyes. A powerful creature on the brink of death was asking to be saved. My eyes were now caught in a trance as I looked back at his deadly glowing eyes.
They were beautiful.
I got closer again. He barked at me angrily showing his sharp teeth. He even tried to get up and attack me, but failed when he staggered on his legs and fell miserably. I heard a little whimper. He was getting weak, I could feel his lifeforce escaping from him.
It was heartbreaking to see something like this.
I was glued to the wall. My heart beat madly with fear and courage. What was I going to do? I wasn't sure. My mind was screaming at me, telling me to run away. I knew I couldn't. My heart forced me to save him, in his dire state.
"Don't be afraid. I'm here to help you." I gulped, slowly moving my body from the cold dark brick wall behind me.
I grabbed my bag as a form of shield. This was not going to be an easy task. First I need to stop it from biting the life out of me.
I had to be careful. Extremely careful. Mom had warned me never ever let a werewolf to bite me. “Never. Veera, never.” she said seriously. But when I asked why, she never answered. She only told me if I was bitten by a werewolf, I would be attached to them on a deeply basis which would lead to severe consequences.
She never told me the truth and she couldn’t answer me anymore. She died on her job as a cop, before I found my real identity, my real ability…
Suddenly, I heard a pain groan. The werewolf's eyes are turning black. He’s dying!
No time to waste!
With a quick move, I hit him hard with my big fat book bag. He growled angrily and his attention was focused on my bag. At the moment, I caught his snout and jaw and held it tightly underneath my arm while placing my other hand over its bleeding wound.
His fur felt cold. That was a bad sign. He struggled and I felt his paws trying to grab my leg but it just weakly struck me. I should have freaked out seeing his paws on my lap, but I was too busy healing him to even care about it.
Although his attempt was in vain, he kept ‘attacking’ me.
"Ah! Quit it! I'm trying to save your life here!" I snapped.
He stopped for a minute, strangely obeyed and pulled his weak paw away.
Then he closed his eyes.
.
.
.
"No..No..c'mon big guy! Stay with me!!" I chanted. Tears dropped down.
A strange beam of light came out of my hands illuminating his wound. Black bullets came out of his wounds, and his started healing. He was recovering.
In a few seconds, the werewolf snapped his eyes open. I could felt his warmth was returning back.
"Hey, welcome back." I wiped away my tears, smiling at him.
He just stared at me in confusion. Without his deadly glowing eyes, he looked cute. I removed my hand away from the jaw and snout and surprisingly hugged him. It was weird, like we kind had a strong connection.
I was in sheer joy and didn't realize the situation. The dangerous werewolf was back.
We just stared at one another, not moving, not saying a word.
"You're going to be ok." I repeated. He just looked at me completely still to my touch as I patted its head gently. It growled lowly, kind of enjoying my gentle strokes on him.
"RUN!! VEERA!!!"
A sudden voice snapped me out of the beautiful wolf’s eyes. It’s my friend Leo.
Then I realized that I was hugging a dangerous stranger, not a human but a large predator. He looked at me and then he turned his attention to Leo and snarled at him wildly. Annoyed and pissed of at him, for startling me.
My heart accelerated like a bullet train.
I just saved a deadly blood thirsty beast.
The werewolf slowly stood up as I unwrapped his neck, it started baring his sharp teeth and paws, heading towards Leo.
“No…no…” I tried to talk to him, “He’s my friend. We’re not your enemy. Remember? I..I saved you. We—”
With another vicious growl, I stopped talking and screamed in sheer fear.
I dropped my bag and ran towards Leo who was scared shitless as it stood up on to his full height.
The werewolf chased and growled even louder than before. The ground was trembled and shook like a terrible earthquake.
It completely frightened us. We were both glued to the ground, waiting for death.
The werewolf moved close to me, sniffed me with his snout. I closed my eyes, shedding tears away.
Then I heard a low deep voice say...
“I will find you again.”

The only person more curious than me is Blake Nyvas, tall, golden-eyed, and very much a Dragon. People whisper that he’s dangerous, warn me to keep my distance. But Blake seems determined to solve the mystery of me, and somehow I trust him more than anyone else.
Maybe it’s reckless. Maybe it’s dangerous.
