melodearose · Ongoing · 30.2k Words
Introduction
Desperate to save her sick brother, 21-year-old Omega Skylar Avery Miles accepts a position at the Royal Home Secretary, working under the feared Enigma Alpha, Liam Rowan Spencer. Officially, she’s his sign language interpreter.
Unofficially, she’s the only one who can stabilize his dangerous pheromones.
What begins as a high-paying contract quickly turns into something far more binding; marked as his mate, trapped in a deal she can’t escape, Skylar becomes the center of a power struggle she never asked to join.
Then the Prime Minister offers her freedom.
But in a kingdom built on secrets, freedom always comes with a price.
And when love, revenge, and politics collide, Skylar must decide;
Will she remain someone’s possession…
or become the woman who rewrites the rules of Estines?
Chapter 1
"Shut up!" Alpha Liam snapped at a female Beta on the pool table. "Continue," he then said to his personal assistant.
"Alright, Alpha Liam. Next up is Beta A with the rose-scented, her profession is doctor. Then Beta S with a jasmine-scented, a lawyer. And Gamma T is a business owner with a scent of--"
"Stop it," Alpha Liam ordered coldly and forcefully. "Boring."
"Those Betas and Gamma's are the best for now. Virgin, haven't met their mates yet, and come from classy family backgrounds," his personal assistant explained carefully.
"Is that all you have to offer?" "Yes, for now--"
"Show me something else. The one you showed me earlier, I'm not interested in."
This was the 99th time Liam Rowan Spencer, Enigma Alpha and the reigning King of the country of Estines, where every werewolf was classified by class from the highest Enigma Alpha to the lowest Omega, had refused his sleeping partner.
Alpha Liam wanted something new, not just girls who obeyed whenever he commanded them or who had common pheromones. Whether it was Alpha, Beta, Gamma, or even Omega, they matter to him if they had something he was looking for, special pheromones. "There is only one Gamma left, unemployed and applying as a sign language interpreter at the Home Secretary's office," his personal assistant replied with a shaky voice and hands. "With scented pheromones?"
"Not mentioned."
The billiard table became the target of Alpha Liam's punches until the edge cracked. "Who let her through to the final stage?"
"I'm sorry... I wasn't careful."
Alpha Liam let out a rough breath. His eyes then sharpened as he saw the ball in front of his cue stick. Then with his left hand, he formed a V with his thumb. "You know out of all those candidates I only choose one to sleep with me, right?"
"I totally understand, Alpha Liam."
Then Alpha Liam finally pushed his cue stick which made the ball roll and enter the pocket in the corner of the pool table. "And you let in a candidate with an incomplete bio?"
"I'm sorry, Alpha Liam."
"Does she even have special pheromones that can get rid of this damn dizziness and can stabilize my pheromones?"
"I don't think so, Alpha Liam."
Alpha Liam was getting so angry that he threw his cue stick. He also pulled Beta in front of him until she fell flat on her back on the pool table. After that he placed the cue ball between Beta's breasts. "So it can only be used for fun like this one?"
The personal assistant nodded in fear of failing again to bring the Alpha King someone he was looking for.
"I want one that can stabilize my pheromones, give me power with her pheromones, and the bonus is that it can make me have fun with physical contact. Is that so hard?"
"Yes, Alpha Liam."
Alpha Liam finally threw the cue ball at his personal assistant's face, making his nose bleed. "How dare you answer!"
There were no more responses because the Alpha King was angry. They were scared of being bullied and ending up as his punching bag.
"I pay them what their salary is worth. Their job is to serve me in bed and make sure my pheromones are stable. Make that clear. And one more " Alpha Liam picked up a new cue
stick. "Only pass the one with complete identity."
"Noted, Alpha Liam." The personal assistant was about to turn off the projector screen. But then Alpha Liam pulled the remote.
"Who is she?" Alpha Liam asked curiously.
"She was the last candidate, the Gamma you rejected too."
"Did I say I rejected her? I haven't decided yet." Alpha Liam then enlarged the size of the Gamma's photo to show only her eyes. And that's what finally made Liam's curious gaze turn into an angry one.
"She's an Omega, not a Gamma," he said next. "No way, Alpha Liam. She registered as a Gamma."
"You doubt my judgment? Look at her eyes! They have a different twinkle, typical of an Omega. They imply fear and worry."
Alpha Liam's assessment was correct. The one on the screen was indeed an Omega disguised as Gamma.
"Hmm this is interesting.”
"Interested in Omega? Did I hear you wrong, Sir?"
"They are indeed lowly, the lowest class, and weak. But if they can fulfill the things I mentioned earlier, why not?"
Alpha Liam smiled mysteriously. He had a reason why out of all the choices, he chose Omega. Alpha Liam was curious why the Omega had lied about her status and why she had not explained her pheromone scent.
Besides, Alpha Liam also intended to punish the Omega directly.
"I'm sorry but is it okay if you smell the scent of an Omega that might not be as good as Beta and Gamma, sir?"
"Just do as I fucking say!"
"Name, status and age?" asked the guard in the lobby.
"Skylar Avery Miles, Gamma, 21 years old," Skylar answered carefully. She also repeatedly checked her watch to see the time because she couldn't be late for this interview.
Skylar was currently at the Home Secretary's to conduct her first interview after graduating from college. And this was her first interview call after all her applications had been rejected. Skylar was skeptical at first that it was a fake interview call. Because instead of being contacted at the prosecutor's office or the television station or the schools she applied to, she was directly contacted by the Home Secretary's office, the country's administrative headquarters directly under Alpha King Liam.
And since finding a job for Omega was difficult, Skylar had no choice but to show up. She also needed money to pay for her brother’s medical expenses, the only family she had at the moment.
"Come with me," the guard said once Skylar finished introducing herself.
Skylar just obeyed, hoping that the interview would go well and she would be hired here. 163rd floor. That's where Skylar was taken.
"I can only take you up here. Walk straight and then turn right. Then go through the brown door. Do you understand?"
"Yes, I understand. Thank you," Skylar replied politely.
Skylar then exited the elevator. She mumbled, saying positive affirmations while walking to the room in question.
In front of the room were two guards who were currently looking at Skylar like they were seeing a ghost.
"I'm Skylar, the 100th candidate for today's interview," she explained briefly.
The two guards opened the door for Skylar. And once Skylar stepped inside, she saw only a professional camera in the center of the room with no interviewer. There wasn't even a single person there except her.
Skylar was confused. She decided to approach the camera. "Welcome 100th and final candidate for today, Skylar Avery Miles."
The voice that suddenly appeared out of nowhere startled Skylar but then she was grateful because at least she knew this wasn't a scam.
"Please remove all the clothes attached to your body. Then stand one meter away from the camera, and slowly turn around to be photographed from all sides to determine your eligibility."

After the Affair: Falling into a Billionaire's Arms
From first crush to wedding vows, George Capulet and I had been inseparable. But in our seventh year of marriage, he began an affair with his secretary.
On my birthday, he took her on vacation. On our anniversary, he brought her to our home and made love to her in our bed...
Heartbroken, I tricked him into signing divorce papers.
George remained unconcerned, convinced I would never leave him.
His deceptions continued until the day the divorce was finalized. I threw the papers in his face: "George Capulet, from this moment on, get out of my life!"
Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.
When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.
"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."

The Pack: Rule Number 1 - No Mates
"Let me go," I whimper, my body trembling with need. "I don't want you touching me."
I fall forward onto the bed then turn around to stare at him. The dark tattoos of Domonic's chiseled shoulders, quiver and and expand with the heave of his chest. His deep dimpled smile is full of arrogance as he reaches behind himself to lock the door.
Biting his lip, he stalks toward me, his hand going to the seam of his pants and the thickening bulge there.
"Are you sure you don't want me to touch you?" He whispers, untying the knot and slipping a hand inside. "Because I swear to God, that is all I have been wanting to do. Every single day from the moment you stepped in our bar and I smelled your perfect flavor from across the room."

Alpha Twins' Mate's broken Human
A Lesson in Magic
Rise of the Banished She-Wolf
That roar stole my eighteenth birthday and shattered my world. My first shift should have been glory—blood turned blessing into shame. By dawn they'd branded me "cursed": cast out by my pack, abandoned by family, stripped of my nature. My father didn't defend me—he sent me to a forsaken island where wolfless outcasts were forged into weapons, forced to kill each other until only one could leave.
On that island I learned the darkest edges of humanity and how to bury terror in bone. Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.
I Slapped My Fiancé—Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis
Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now—billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn’t mind. I’d crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one?
Wrong.
One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That’s when it hit me—he didn’t love me. He didn’t even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn’t even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup.
So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster—my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise.
Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol.
Enter him.
Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I’d met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes.
It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised.
But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life.
And, as it turned out, the best decision I’d ever made.
Because my one-night stand isn’t just some random guy. He’s richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with.
And now, he’s not letting me go.
The Forbidden Throb
Mine changed in the time it took to open a door.
Behind it: my fiancé Nicholas with another woman.
Three months until our wedding. Three seconds to watch it all burn.
I should have run. Should have screamed. Should have done anything except stand there like a fool.
Instead, I heard the devil himself whisper in my ear:
"If you're willing, I could marry you."
Daniel. The brother I was warned about. The one who made Nicholas look like a choir boy.
He leaned against the wall, watching my world implode.
My pulse thundered. "What?"
"You heard me." His eyes burned into mine. "Marry me, Emma."
But as I stared into those magnetic eyes, I realized something terrifying:
I wanted to say yes to him.
Game on.
The Biker Alpha Who Became My Second Chance Mate
"You're like a sister to me."
Those were the actual words that broke the camel's back.
Not after what just happened. Not after the hot, breathless, soul-shaking night we spent tangled in each other's arms.
I knew from the beginning that Tristan Hayes was a line I shouldn't cross.
He wasn't just anyone, he was my brother's best friend. The man I spent years secretly wanting.
But that night... we were broken. We had just buried our parents. And the grief was too heavy, too real...so I begged him to touch me.
To make me forget. To fill the silence that death left behind.
And he did. He held me like I was something fragile.
Kissed me like I was the only thing he needed to breathe.
Then left me bleeding with six words that burned deeper than rejection ever could.
So, I ran. Away from everything that cost me pain.
Now, five years later, I'm back.
Fresh from rejecting the mate who abused me. Still carrying the scars of a pup I never got to hold.
And the man waiting for me at the airport isn't my brother.
It's Tristan.
And he's not the guy I left behind.
He's a biker.
An Alpha.
And when he looked at me, I knew there was no where else to run to.
