Smelling Like Nothing for My Alpha
Juniper Marlow · Completed · 5.6k Words
Introduction
Scent blocker on my wrists and throat, every time another Alpha walked into the room. "Until it's official," Knox said. Until he marked me.
When the war's over. He promised me eighteen times.
I drank wolfsbane in his place at every feast. I drew the maps that won his war, then watched him stand up and take the thanks.
The morning after the war ended, he walked through our door wearing another she-wolf's scent like a second skin.
So I didn't fight. I renounced his pack and took a one-way flight to the only territory he'd sworn never to set foot in.
He crossed the line anyway.
Now he's on my porch in the rain, his wolf clawing under his skin, begging to mark me tonight.
Chapter 1
Every wolf in Ironridge had called me Luna for three years. I'd been with Knox Harlan for eight. In all that time, he'd never once put his mark on my neck.
Tonight the pack was celebrating the end of a war. Three years, forty-one fights on our borders, and Knox hadn't lost a single acre. Tonight was also supposed to be the night he finally took me up to the Moonstone.
Eighteen times I'd asked him when. Eighteen times he'd given me the same answer.
When the war's over.
The first time he said it, the night after our Luna ceremony, he held my face in both hands. "Not in wartime, Maren. Once I mark you, you feel every wound I take. If I go down on the line, you go down with me. And every rogue out there would know exactly where to aim."
I thought it was the most loving thing anyone had ever said to me.
Now the war was over.
The great hall of the pack house was packed wall to wall. Alphas from four allied territories had come to toast the wolf who'd held Ironridge, and every one of them raised a glass of wolfsbane whiskey to Knox.
He couldn't drink. He was leading the dawn patrol to hunt down the last of the rogues. So I did what Lunas have always done. I took his cup.
Wolfsbane whiskey is the only thing strong enough to get a wolf drunk, and it goes down like swallowing a lit match. After the fourth, I couldn't feel my throat anymore. I lost count somewhere after that, around the time the floor started tilting.
Knox didn't look over once. He was by the fireplace with Brielle Sutton, the youngest warrior he trained himself, the two of them bent over a map of the east line for tomorrow's patrol. My map. I'd drawn it two nights ago at our kitchen table.
She said something and laughed. He filled her water glass before she'd even reached for it.
The wolves at my table had gone quiet. One of the older she-wolves slid a glass of water toward me without a word. Nobody else would meet my eyes. Half the pack knew exactly why I was drinking, and the other half had seen it before.
By the time the feast broke up, snow was coming down outside. The first of the year.
Knox pulled his truck around to the front steps. I went down to meet it, holding the railing the whole way. He got out and stood between me and the passenger door.
"Brielle can't hold her liquor. I'm going to drive her home." He was already looking past me, up the steps. "Grady's still inside, he'll give you a ride. We'll go up to the Moonstone tomorrow. That's okay, right?"
He didn't wait for me to answer.
There was a time I would have made a scene. I'd fought with him over less, in the truck, in our kitchen, once in front of the whole war council. I'd asked him over and over what I was to him if I wasn't worth one night. None of it ever changed anything.
Tonight I just said, "Okay. Watch the ice on the pass."
Knox stopped on the bottom step and looked at me. Really looked, for the first time all night, like he'd braced for a fight and didn't know what to do without one.
Then he shook it off. "I'll pick you up something on the way back," he said, and went up the steps.
He came back down with Brielle in his arms.
He carried her straight across the lot, in front of every wolf spilling out of the hall. He settled her in the passenger seat, shrugged out of his jacket, and tucked it around her shoulders.
Every wolf on those steps could smell what that meant. His scent, wrapped all over her.
I knew how it went when it was me. Every time I drank his share at some alliance dinner, I'd reach for his arm on the way out, just to stay upright. And every time, he'd step away.
Not in front of the pack, Maren. A Luna stands on her own feet.
So I stood. Even when the floor was spinning. Even the night I got sick behind the hall and walked the three miles home alone.
The truck pulled out of the lot. Snow kept falling on the place where it had been.
I put my hand in my coat pocket and found the moonstone. Elder Hollis had pressed it into my palm at our Luna ceremony. I was supposed to set it on the Moonstone myself, the night Knox marked me. I'd carried it every day for three years.
There was a trash can by the pack house door. I dropped it in.

Love's Deadly Equation
I was sent to her.
To watch her. To protect her. And, when the order comes… to kill her.
My name is Keegan Caffery. I’m the Carter Mafia’s best hitman. I don’t miss. I don’t fail.
At least, I didn’t use to.
I don’t know what it is about her that got to me first—her mouth, her mind, or the way she looks at me like I’m not what she should fear.
I’ve had a gun to her head since I walked into her life.
She knows it.
And she still doesn’t run.
She just watches me back like she’s studying a problem she refuses to call impossible.
She’s the one variable I can’t control.
And God help me… I don’t want to.
I have an order. I have loyalty. I have a trigger.
But every time I imagine it—
I can’t stand it.
Her or me. That’s the math.
It’s a deadly equation I don’t want to solve.
⬥ Maisie ⬥
I’m not ordinary. I stopped pretending long ago.
My name is Maisie Seo. IQ 145. Clinical genius.
Which sounds impressive until you realize what it actually means: I don’t fit anywhere people expect me to.
I see patterns everywhere. Outcomes before they happen. People like equations I’ve already solved.
It gets lonely in a world you’ve already figured out.
So I dull myself down. Smoke the edges off. Pretend, badly, to be the kind of normal that lets people stay.
Then he walked in.
I knew what he was immediately. Dangerous. Intentional. Wrong in all the right ways.
I should be afraid of him.
I keep waiting for that to kick in.
Instead, I’m fascinated.
Because for the first time in my life… I’ve found something I can’t solve.
He is my deadly equation.
Filled, Owned, and Fucked by My Best Friend’s Father
He was supposed to be off-limits. Untouchable. The kind of man you only fantasize about when you’re alone in the dark with your hand between your thighs.
But the night I caught him eating another woman alive by the pool, I couldn’t look away.
And he knew it.
The moment his dark eyes locked on mine through the glass, I became prey. His filthy smirk promised one thing—he saw me touching myself to him, and he wasn’t about to let me forget it.
Now, every time I’m in his house, I can’t breathe without thinking of his mouth between my legs.
I left my cheating boyfriend behind, only to fall into something even more dangerous:
a man who could ruin me, break me, and make me beg for his cock while his own daughter sleeps in the next room.
He’s too old. Too powerful. Too forbidden.
But Gianni doesn’t ask—he takes.
And I don’t want him to stop.
Let Them Kneel
Cast out by her pack. Forgotten by the Lycans.
She lived among humans—quiet, invisible, tucked away in a town no one looked at twice.
But when her first heat comes without warning, everything changes.
Her body ignites. Her instincts scream. And something primal stirs beneath her skin—
summoning a big, bad Alpha who knows exactly how to quench her fire.
When he claims her, it’s ecstasy and ruin.
For the first time, she believes she’s been accepted.
Seen.
Chosen.
Until he leaves her the next morning—
like a secret never to be spoken.
But Kaelani is not what they thought.
Not wolfless. Not weak.
There is something ancient inside her. Something powerful. And it’s waking.
And when it does—
they’ll all remember the girl they tried to erase.
Especially him.
She’ll be the dream he keeps chasing… the one thing that ever made him feel alive.
Because secrets never stay buried.
And neither do dreams.
MOONLIT CHASE
But no, I had to walk through the park at midnight like an idiot. Now I've seen something I can't unsee—a massive black wolf tearing apart three men, then shifting into the hottest guy I've ever laid eyes on.
Kieran Vaughn. Wealthy lawyer, werewolf, and apparently, he thinks I'm his mate.
Here's the problem: I don't do relationships. I definitely don't do supernatural things. I absolutely don't do rich guys who think they can control my life just because their inner wolf has decided I smell like home.

He says everyone he loves dies. I say that's not my problem except it is because I'm falling for this broken, dangerous man and his beast.
And in his world? Love will get you killed.

Inked Adonis - Mafia Romance
Of me saying I want to climb him like a tree.
And he just. Texted. Back.
It's the dog's fault, really.
If this untrained Great Dane I'm walking had any manners at all, I never would've ended up here:
With my leash wrapped around the most gorgeous man I've ever seen.
Lucky for me, the guy is a good sport about it.
(Although his joke that “Dogs take after their owners” hits a little too close to home when Rufus starts humping his leg.)
He leaves me with his business card and a smile that makes my knees weak.
I'm still pinching myself as me and the bestie resume our walk.
“Methinks you had a little crush on him,” she accuses.
Not thinking and a little flustered by the whole experience, I reply, “I’d wrap my legs around his waist tighter than that leash.”
THAT'S when she reveals that she'd been recording my response.
THAT'S when she gives me the most devilish grin I've ever seen and says, “You're welcome.”
And THAT'S when she hands me my phone and reveals...
She sent the recording to him.
My heart is in my throat as those three little dots appear…
Then a text.
“PROVE IT.”
