The Fake Father: Exposing Her Affair with a DNA Test
Ladys · Completed · 6.3k Words
Introduction
I was beside myself with elation, convinced I’d finally secured an heir to carry on my family line.
Yet she’d let her so-called "male best friend" name our son: Gu Nianzhe.
Nianzhe. The name literally translates to "yearning for Zhe". Yearning for Lu Zhe?
I stared at the tiny face that bore an unmistakable seventy percent resemblance to Lu Zhe, and my heart was torn to shreds.
At our son’s one-month full moon banquet, my wife looked at Lu Zhe with eyes brimming with lovestruck adoration, and said: "You’re the most important person in my son’s life and mine."
The entire hall erupted into applause for this "heartwarming" pair.
I stepped up onto the stage, a cold smile playing on my lips, and pulled out a paternity test report.
"Don’t get swept up in the tears just yet. Today, I, the world’s biggest sucker who’s been played for a fool this whole time, have a little entertainment lined up to liven up this party for you all."
Chapter 1
My wife Natalie Vaughn and I had been married for three years when she finally gave birth to a son.
I was over the moon, thinking I finally had an heir.
But she let her male friend Ethan Blackwell name our son, taking away my right to name my own child.
Looking at my son's face that was at least seventy percent similar to Ethan's, my heart was breaking.
At the sip and see party, Natalie looked at Ethan lovingly and said, "You're the most important person in my and my son's life."
Everyone applauded for this "touching" pair.
I walked onto the stage, smiling as I pulled out a paternity test report.
"Don't get emotional just yet. Today I've also prepared a little entertainment for everyone."
Chapter 1
I was holding my newborn son, not even having the chance to speak yet.
Natalie's eyes looked right past me, fixed on the doorway.
Ethan, her best friend, walked in carrying nutritional supplements.
"Natalie, you've been through a lot." His voice was incredibly gentle.
"Not at all, come look." Natalie's eyes were filled with unmistakable tenderness.
Ethan smoothly took the baby from my arms, not even glancing at me.
"So cute, looks like you."
Ethan said to Natalie with a smile.
I stood to the side, my heart feeling like it had been pricked by a needle.
"Ethan, perfect timing,"
Natalie grabbed his hand, her tone carrying a hint of playfulness.
"Help me name my son. You're his godfather, so this right belongs to you."
My smile froze on my face.
Godfather? Naming rights?
"Honey, that's not really appropriate, is it?"
"We should name our child ourselves."
I managed to say.
Natalie's face immediately darkened.
"Benjamin Carrington, what are you trying to say?"
"Ethan is the godfather. It's just a name. Do you have to be so petty?"
"This isn't about being petty."
"Then what is it about?"
Natalie shot back.
Ethan tried to smooth things over, acting all generous.
"Natalie, forget it. It's just a name. Don't fight over something so small."
"No way! You have to name him! My son's name must come from you!"
Natalie practically shouted stubbornly.
Natalie's mother Samantha Vaughn looked at me, clearly displeased.
"It's just a name, what's the big deal?"
"Ethan got Natalie to the hospital just in time today. Instead of being grateful, you're here being jealous."
Natalie's father Vincent Vaughn chimed in, "Exactly, it's just a name. Doesn't matter who picks it."
They all talked over each other, everyone taking Ethan's side.
Looking at this family, and Ethan, I suddenly felt it was all absurd and laughable.
That bit of joy from becoming a father for the first time was completely washed away, leaving only cold humiliation.
I took a deep breath and forced out a word through clenched teeth.
"Fine."
"I've got it,"
Ethan suddenly spoke up. He looked down at the baby, his eyes gentle.
"Let's call him Daniel."
"Perfect name!" Natalie was the first to clap, her face showing undisguised admiration and emotion.
The delivery room instantly returned to its cheerful atmosphere.
They gathered around Ethan and "Daniel," laughing constantly.
Completely making me an outsider.
After leaving the delivery room, I lit a cigarette and took a deep drag.
My chest felt like it was blocked by a stone, unbearably heavy.
