Introduction
It was Seff’s worst nightmare. But she had no choice if she wanted to protect her best friend.
They were close. Their harsh gazes roamed each Omega body down the line until they were looking at Seff. Their faces dawned with deep expression—surprise, then confusion, then knowledge, as if understanding a sudden question. But she was just an unremarkable orphan Omega whose secret of not experiencing heats could get her killed.
The gods in wolf and human form asked, “What is your name now?”
Two Alphas, Kiran Cyrus and Selene Hilal, are obsessed with the same Omega, Seff Bleize. They will do anything to win her love first, even if it means war. What secrets do they hide in their dark and bloody pasts? Who will Seff choose: the gold god or the night goddess?
Chapter 1
Hello and thank you for reading The Harems of the Alphas!
It was the harem of the wolves.
It was ruled by the Luna female.
And it was permeated with the scent of mating.
The Luna Selene was entangled between two females, both beautifully chocolate-skinned, one as slender as a sylph, the other gifted with generous curves and rolls. Their lips and hands roamed the planes of Selene’s own body, smoothing over the soft mound of her belly, naughty fingers applying gentle pressure at her opening. Their breath warmed Selene’s throat, their soft moans, “Me first,” only swelling her ego, strengthening the knowledge of her absolute control over the two Omegas she’d claimed from the extensive collection of her harem. There were males and females alike awaiting a visit from her from the rooms of the compound she had expanded upon over the century to grow her dynasty, to satiate her unquenchable libido.
The females’ bare limbs were a perfect tangle, oiled with sweat and slick from the Omegas, their panting, and whimpers like wounded wolves, begging for release from an uncaring master. Selene was their master, and they each wanted to be her next catch to bear her another pup.
Selene heard rushed footsteps—the doors to her bedroom slammed open. “Luna—”
The two Omegas whirled to their feet and Shifted into their wolf forms with the explosive sound of ripping flesh. They towered over the messenger and snarled deep in their chests, ready to rip his throat out at their Alpha’s careless command. Selene’s warmth between her legs grew even warmer at the display of her Omegas. It was Alphas who were notoriously known for their violent possessiveness over what they claimed to be theirs, but Omegas could occasionally give them a run for their money when they owed their duty—when their desire to please and pleasure was on the line, and would not let an intruder interfere.
But it angered Selene as well. “What do you want?” she snapped.
“Selene,” the messenger spluttered, “he is here. Kiran is here to see you.”
Selene almost let her own wolf form free. “Let him wait,” she snarled, so viscously that the messenger fled within a heartbeat. “Get over here!” was her next snarl to the females.
They scrambled back onto her bed. The grand bedroom, the mating room, as it was known, was thickly carpeted, the “bed” merely a feather-down comforter big enough for three bodies. Selene usually chose one Omega, but sometimes her urges were so strong she had to call upon two. But the news made her unfocused, so as the two Omegas curved their bodies over hers, she snapped at the slim one to back off. “I choose you,” she said to the plump one.
Twin growls, one of triumph, the other, jealously. Selene let the slim one remain beside them, even as she sulked, while the other topped Selene only to allow Selene the butterfly-tickle of lips upon skin calm her. But this Omega’s wide hips would give a greater chance of catch over the other’s lithe form. When they both sensed the time was ripe, Selene flipped the female over and mounted her.
The knotting lasted half an hour, the room echoing their pants and moans. When the deed was done, Selene rose to her aching feet and barked, “Let him in.”
Behind her, the Omegas whined in protest at the abrupt dismissal—one still hopeful to be taken tonight, the other almost incapacitated. Selene snarled wordlessly and the message to get out was abundantly clear. They slipped behind a curtain and out the hidden door just as Kiran shoved his way through the main doors.
The Alpha male was her enemy. It was a bet, a competition, a kink, that made the contest of who could sire the most offspring within the span of three years.
Selene, gloriously naked and gleaming sweet and slick from the Omega, padded toward Kiran as he stalked forward, fully clothed. “Come to gloat?” she purred. They stopped just a few feet apart.
Kiran’s gaze roamed over her body as tangible as touch. Selene’s eyes were just as satisfied at his reaction evident through his pants. “Or just come to pay a visit?”
He was too proud to hide it. “I did come here to gloat,” he said tightly. “Two births—twins, and three conceptions since we last met.”
Selene offered a casual laugh. “Oh, how funny, the same numbers grace my harem! Two conceptions and three births! So much can change in just some months.”
Kiran’s lips started to curl. “What a petty liar you are, Selene.”
Her lips curved in a smile just a little too wide to be human. “If you came to insult me, why did why come at all?” She took one step toward him. “Why come if neither of us can bear offspring? Two Alphas, genetic dead ends…”
Kiran’s eyes narrowed with precision hunger and desire—the desire for her. Her counterpart closed the space between them. “Insatiable lust,” he murmured. He bent at the waist to match her height. “Desire to corrupt the competition.” His eyes flicked to her parted lips, tilting his head to the side. “Perhaps love.”
Kiran smashed his mouth against hers. She allowed his tongue to explore just a bit before she elongated her canines and bit down hard enough to draw blood; it spurted into her mouth, dribbling over her lip and down her chin. He reeled back with a curse, fingers flying to feel the puncture wounds that would heal on their own in the next minute or so. His features warped as his inner wolf threatened to take control.
She only smiled, sliding her tongue over her teeth smeared with his blood. It tasted sweet, like satisfaction. Her gaze flicked down again. There was something else she wanted to taste.
Kiran would be an idiot to miss the hint. He ripped off his shirt and tossed it aside, grabbing Selene’s backside roughly and yanking her against his sweat-sleek body. He was a massive marvel of muscle. Selene locked her legs around his hips when he lifted her, fingers clasped at the nape of his neck, head tipped back to expose her throat to the trail Kiran’s lips would take. Gentle at first, tasting her, letting her scent fill his senses. His musk cloyed Selelene’s nose, her body reacting ahead of her brain.
He was surprisingly gentle in laying her down upon the comforter. As quick as a flash he was fully exposed and crushing her body with his. Kiran’s next trail of kisses was accompanied by the slide of tongue and the scrape of lengthened canines. The three companions of carnality tasted the hollow of her throat, the fine slopes of her collarbones, the ridge between her breasts, down to between her ribs, and then back to her breasts. Kiran slipped one of them into his mouth, and Selene lost her inhibitions like the flip of a switch.
“Love has no place here,” Selene gasped out. Her legs locked around his waist again, hands smoothing over the landscape of his muscled back. She hated him. She wanted him closer. She turned her nails into claws, skating Kiran’s skin lightly, making him shudder. She wanted to win their bet. She wanted him inside her, despite her exhaustion. They were paradoxes. “Only revelry.”
So she dug in her claws in deep, right at the base of his spine, and dragged them up the column of his back. His body seized as she mangled his muscles and tissues and nerves, unsure whether to arch toward or away. Kiran snarled a warning that promised retaliation, but the scent of his blood was euphoric, and it ran down her arms and onto her brown body. It was sweet, it was power, it was hate, it was sensuous.
And the jaws he clamped her shoulder between—it was a spark to tinder.
It was nothing either of them hadn’t done before. “No one says we can’t try,” Kiran growled.
“Hate sex or love?” she growled back, bucking her hips so he could enter her.
“Can’t I love hate sex?” he panted. They moaned as they connected, Kiran not hesitating to start thrusting, hard and fast, jolting their bodies unceremoniously.
“Just call it to sabotage.” Selene was unaffected by the neighboring Alpha’s occasional “visits” that always turned sexual and bloody. It was their vice to be entangled with the taboo, their ingrained violent tendencies sometimes too great for their Omegas to withstand, so their matched brutality was the final depletion of their energy until they were utterly raw. “If you run me ragged, I won’t be able to catch anyone soon enough.”
“Then I sabotage myself.” Kiran pressed her chest to hers, whether intentional or not, to give her access to his shoulder.
Either way, Selene took advantage. She used the strength of her wolf, the strength of an Alpha, to bite down hard. The fire blazed into an inferno—into release.
They both cried out—wolf’s yowls of pain and pleasure—as it tore through them. They collapsed, heaving for breath, blood and musk and slick and sweat and warmth. Creatures built to mate and breed. These particular Alphas intent to keep enough pets to out-mate and out-breed each other. These two wolves too arrogant to do anything but boast how sybaritic their lifestyles were. Neither of them wanted to claim just one mate, but a dozen. Enough to fill their harems with Omegas and offspring, all still vying for their Alpha’s devoted attention. Yes, the Alphas would defend their own, but when the enemy could provide such rapturous recreation, could they bring themselves to end their counterpart’s life?
As if Kiran could read Selene’s mind, his voice rasped when he said, “I wouldn’t hesitate to rip your throat out if you took one step in my harem.”
“Likewise."

"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"

"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."
