Introduction
"The winds of change are brewing, Jonah.” the first man said, his eyes flashing with an unsettling intensity. "The darkness gathers. And you, Jonah, will be caught in the storm."
Jonah’s confusion grew. The men continued to speak, their words riddled with mysteries and shrouded in veiled warnings.
“Your path is fraught with peril, Jonah.” the second man said, his voice as smooth as honey. “But you aren't alone. There are those who will come for you, those who will seek to get you.”
"What are you talking about?" Jonah asked with furrowed brows.
"The storm gathers even now Jonah." The men said. "It'll be upon you soon." Before Jonah could ask any more question, the men stepped into the shadows and where gone again.
He died a hero, saving the girl he loved. But in the afterlife, a twist of fate offered him a chance at a second life.
Jonah, a man consumed by grief, awakens with a godly gift the power to heal. He becomes a famed healer, celebrated for his miraculous touch. Yet, in the shadows, a small voice whispers and his ability is fueled by a force he slightly understands, a force that binds him to the darkness. Now, he must navigate the unfaithful path of his new power, fight the whispers of the unknown, and face the heart wrenching choice between the woman he loves and the power that could consume him.
Chapter 1
"Move Jonah!" The voice startled him and succeeded in bringing him back from his fantasy to reality. "You're not payed to stand around and stare all day long. Now get moving!" The nurse said as she pushed the stretcher passed Jonah. "Doctor Moxley wants you in the ward B now!" The nurse said as they moved off and into a nearby room.
Jonah quickly returned his gaze to his place of interest but his object of interest was gone. Jonah sighed and moved off to answer Doctor Moxley's call. With his bucket and his mop, he quickly made his way through the usual crowd at Wellings Hospital occasionally bumping into the nurses who'll hiss back at him.
"What were you doing? Did my message not get to you on time?" Doctor Moxley frowned the moment Jonah stepped into Ward B.
"I'm sorry Doctor... The hallway was crowded so.."
"Quiet!" The Doctor snapped. He was tending to a sick patient and could not really talk so in as much as he wanted to rave, he could not. "Someone puked over there. Clean it up Will you?" Doctor Moxley ordered.
Jonah moved off to do his job. He was the cleaner and this was what he did. In as much as he had the lowest job in the building, this didn't seem to bother Jonah and he was more than happy to be there where he could see his crush every single day. Doctor Amelia was also a Doctor at Welling Hospital and Jonah's love interest. Although Jonah never got to talk to her, he could not stop fantasizing about her either.
As he busied himself moping the slimy vomit off the floor, Doctor Amelia passed by and for a moment Jonah's attention was diverted. Doctor Amelia was in a hurry and did not even look towards his direction but Jonah's belly erupted with butterflies going wild within him.
"JONAH....!" Another scream rent the air right beside him. Jonah jumped in shock and turned around. It would seem that in his admiration for his crush, he had unknowingly rubbed off the end of the mock on a nurse who was passing by.
"Oh, I'm so sorry.. I'm so so sorry." Jonah began to apologize immediately.
"Dame you Jonah!" The nurse screamed angrily. "How could you be so foolish and too dumb?!" She asked.
"I'm sorry... I didn't do it on purpose.." Jonah tried to explain.
The nurse gave Jonah one last dirty look and scurried off. Jonah returned to his work quietly and tried to do his work without staining anyone else.
It was 7pm when his shift was finally over and Jonah was just about to step out when Doctor Moxley called. Jonah wanted to move to the Doctor's side but Doctor Moxley was walking towards him. He stood his ground and waited patiently as the doctor approached.
"Is everything okay Doctor Moxley?" Jonah asked.
"Everything is alright." Doctor Moxley replied. "But you Jonah, you're not alright." Doctor Moxley replied coldly.
"What do you mean? I'm perfectly okay doctor." Jonah replied quickly.
Doctor Moxley shock his head. "You've not been reliable lately Jonah. You're tired, which is why I'll suggest you take two weeks off duty." The doctor said.
"Why? Is this a suspension sir?" Jonah asked quickly.
"No it isn't." Doctor Moxley replied without the slightest emotion. "But your pay will be cut to 30 percent."
"30 percent?!" Jonah exclaimed. "But sir my pay is meager already. I cai afford to have it cut to 30 percent." He complained sadly.
"We're not debating this!" Doctor Moxley snapped. "You've been getting down right sloppy, Jonah. We can't afford to have you ruining the reputation of this hospital Jonah. You better get over whatever has come over you by the time you return or else you'll be fired for real." With that, doctor Moxley turned and walked away.
For a moment Jonah was transfixed at a point. He was taken aback by what the Doctor had told him. Even though the Doctor had said Jonah would be paid 30 percent salary, Jonah felt that was next to nothing.
There was really nothing he could do so he turned and walked out of the hospital. His apartment was not too far so he usually walked the distance in order to save his money. He walked past people and buildings but he paid no need to the things or the people he passed. His journey to his appartment led him through a quiet and secluded alleyway. Jonah normally rushed past this alley but today his mind was occupied and he wasn't really paying attention to where he was going to.
"Get off me!" The voice jolted Jonah back to reality. It was the voice of a lady and the person sounded like they were in trouble. "Leave me alone you pervert!" The voice came again followed by low voices Jonah identified immediately as belonging to men.
"Help!.. Help... Somebody.." The lady's voice came out loud and pleading. Jonah quickly moved ahead where he was certain the voice was coming from. He tiptoed to a sharp bend and then peeped around the corner.
There was a woman there surrounded by four huge brutes of men. They were pulling at the lady playfully and chuckling. Jonah knew that this was not his business and he also knew what would happen if he intervene and he was eager to leave in order to avoid trouble but just at that moment, the lady stepped into light and Jonah recognized her, it was Doctor Amelia!
"Help!" Amelia shouted again when one of the men moved up behind her and grabbed her by the waist. All instincts, warning flags and blaring alarms going off in Jonah's head just registered faintly on his subconscious. As he watched from his hiding point, the other men began to close in on Amelia too.
Jonah took a deep breath and stepped out in the open. "Oi.. Why don't you pick on someone your own size?" He called out to the men as he approached slowly with all the courage he could muster.

His deceptions continued until the day the divorce was finalized. I threw the papers in his face: "George Capulet, from this moment on, get out of my life!"
Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.
When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.
"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."

The Human Among Wolves
My stomach twisted, but he wasn’t finished.
"You're just a pathetic little human," Zayn said, his words deliberate, each one hitting like a slap. "Spreading your legs for the first guy who bothers to notice you."
Heat rushed to my face, burning with humiliation. My chest ached — not from his words alone, but from the sick realization that I had trusted him. That I had let myself believe he was different.
I was so, so stupid.

I Slapped My Fiancé—Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis
Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now—billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn’t mind. I’d crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one?
Wrong.
One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That’s when it hit me—he didn’t love me. He didn’t even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn’t even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup.
So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster—my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise.
Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol.
Enter him.
Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I’d met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes.
It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised.
But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life.
And, as it turned out, the best decision I’d ever made.
Because my one-night stand isn’t just some random guy. He’s richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with.
And now, he’s not letting me go.
