Sold To The Devil Alpha, Claimed By My Mate.

Introduction
We had been driving in complete silence since my father sold me to him as a peace offering. I was supposed to be his mate, but the cold, murderous look in his golden eyes told me I was nothing more than a prisoner.
"One rule you'd have to learn is never ever question me," Detlef hissed, his minty breath fanning my face. "Once I ask, you give an answer. How many men have touched you?"
Fear clawed at my heart. I tugged weakly at his iron grip. "Zero," I choked out, tears spilling over my lashes.
He didn't believe me. His eyes darkened with absolute fury. "Never lie to your Master," he spat, slamming me back against the leather seat.
He didn't know the truth. He didn't know that three years ago, I gave my innocence to a stranger in a hotel room. A stranger who disappeared the next morning.
But what terrified me most wasn't Detlef's wrath. It was the moment we arrived at his heavily guarded territory, and his Beta rushed to the car window, looking pale.
"Alpha," the Beta whispered. "Fernandez is here. The Alpha of the Phoenix Pack. He's crossed the border... and he says he's come to collect his woman."
My blood ran cold. Fernandez. The name of the man from three years ago. The deadliest enemy of the monster currently holding my throat.
Chapter 1
Zemirah
My heart thudded against my chest as the car pulled to a stop at the castle's garage. My father sent a driver to pick me up from school, hours before the school period was over. I was both excited, and nervous.
Did something happen?
I had gotten into a fight earlier that day, and bruised a corner of my lip. Hopefully, my father won't see it. I sensed the unusual quiet once I stepped into the castle. Servants normally bustled around, but today was different. Although I wanted nothing more than to plop on my bed and sleep, my feet guided me to the large meeting hall reserved for the purpose. Once I walked inside, my gaze landed on two unfamiliar figures, and my father.
"Mirah, there you are." My father cooed, and my heart skipped a beat. I'd known my father long enough to sense his emotions. From my end, I noticed the weariness in his eyes.
“Father,” I curtsied, and hurried over. I remained standing, as I tried to ignore the figures seated a few meters away from me.
“Take a seat,” my father said, gesturing to a chair beside him.
I shook my head lightly. “I'd prefer to stand.”
A low chuckle accompanied my words. My heartbeat accelerated. The chuckle hadn't come from me. I turned my head sideways, enough to grant me a view of our 'visitors.'
The one who'd obviously chuckled lifted his gaze. His jet black hair was pulled into a ponytail, and I wondered who he was. Do men keep their hair in that fashion nowadays?
I gulped as my gaze trailed downwards, studying his face without appearing to. His face was smooth and cleanly shaven. I noticed his strong build visible through his shirt. Goddess. How could someone look so beautifully handsome? His face had that rugged-devil-may-care look. As I took another glance at his chest, I wondered how it would feel beneath my fingers.
The thought made my core throb with anticipation and my eyes widened in horror. I shook my head trying to push the thoughts away.
When I met his gaze again, he had a smirk on his face. Embarrassed at being caught ogling, I turned my face away, back at my father.
“This is the Alpha of the Blue Crescent pack, and his Beta.” My father introduced me, and I bowed stiffly. My ears rang with a buzzing sound. Alpha Detlef? The most powerful Alpha in the entire werewolf race? What was he doing here?
But his next words nearly made me keel to the floor.
“Get your things ready, you'd be leaving with him.”
I felt my stomach churn, and the sandwich I had for lunch at the cafeteria threatened to spill out.
“W-what are you talking about, Father?” My voice was shaky, and the banding discordant noise in my ears grew. Hopefully, I heard him wrongly.
Why'd he send me off with strangers? With his enemy even?
I had heard enough rumors about Alpha Detlef. He was rumored to be ruthless, and bloodthirsty. Was that the man my father was unblinkingly sending me away with?
Alpha Detlef rose from his chair, his actions startling me. He approached me slowly, and stopped right at my front. So close that I could faintly smell his minty breath.
I felt my nipple harden at our close proximity. 'Fuck it, what was happening to me?' There was no way I could be aroused by a total stranger, was there?
“Zemirah,” he began, and I nearly swooned.
I could feel my soaked panties, and I cursed at myself for letting him have so much effect on me.
He grabbed my jaw, and tilted it upwards. His golden eyes were devoid of warmth, as was his voice.
“Go pack your things. We leave in twenty.” Without as much as sparing either of us another gaze, he strolled out of the hall. His Beta followed suit, after giving my father a stiff nod.
Once they were out, I turned to my father. “Father, please. What's happening?” A bile-like taste rose in my throat.
“You'll do it for the pack. Our pack is in danger, and the only way out is to form a truce with the strongest Alpha in the entire werewolf race. He's the only one who can help us.” My father didn't speak with his usual calm tone.
His tone was brisk and firm. It was the tone he used whenever he was speaking to the rest of the pack.
“But Father, I can't leave.” I protested weakly. I had school to attend, my friends and my family. I couldn't possibly leave them behind.
“And what will I do when I get there?” I knew it was a silly question. I'd probably become his servant or something. Maybe an Omega.
“You're quite lucky, I dare say. You'd become his partner.”
And it suddenly seemed like the world had reeled to a stop. My eyes went wide as saucers, and my lips parted in disbelief. Partner, was just a more gentle way of saying “sex toy.”
“Father, you can't do this to me.” I fell to my knees. “You wouldn't want to see me unhappy. I don't want to become his toy, please.” The tears flowed fast, and my vision turned blurry.
"Get up. You're wasting time. You need to leave now." Again, he spoke in that emotionless voice of his.
"Father, you promised to ensure my happiness." I pressed on desperately, hoping he'd crack.
"Zemirah Williams, get up!” He growled.
I stopped, my head suddenly heavy like lead. I slowly rose to my feet, as a strange feeling enveloped my heart. I searched his face for a trace of the father I'd grown up with. The one who'd never bear to see me cry. He was gone. I closed my eyes, hoping that when I opened them, it'll all be a dream. I was sure it was.
However, when I finally opened my eyes, my father was seated on his large chair, the same cold expression on his face.
It was really happening.
I nodded, pushing back the tears. "Goodbye Father." My voice barely qualified as a whisper, as I wobbled out of the hall.
I hugged myself, regretting my impulse not to wear a sweater. I was freezing cold, and the flimsy light shirt I was putting on did nothing to help. Or maybe the cold was from the man seated beside me. He hadn't spoken a word since we set out of my pack, and his face was a stoic mask.
We'd been driving for hours now, and he barely moved. I loved staring out at the view through the window whenever I was in a car. But today, I didn't. More like I couldn't.
"What's your body count?" He suddenly asked, cutting through the thick silence, just as I leaned on the backrest. Startled, I stared at him.
"Pardon?" I frowned.
Silence reigned. Then, he leaned in and gripped my neck so fast, and with more pressure than necessary. Tears brimmed in my eyes at the force, and my lips parted in sheer shock.
"One rule you'd have to learn is never ever question me. Ever. Once I ask, you give an answer. Is that clear?" He growled, and I found myself nodding.
"Say it." He ordered.
"Yes," I choked out the word forcefully.
Fear clawed at my heart and skin, and I felt the urge to throw up.
"Good. Now, I'd ask again. How many men have fucked that pussy of yours?"
His vulgar language made my nose turn up in disgust, and I tugged weakly at his grip on my neck.
"I-I can't breathe." Tears filled my eyes, and when he finally let go, I coughed violently.
I watched through teary gaze as he brought out a handkerchief and wiped his hand with it. Then he threw it out through the window. His actions ignited a new kind of rage in my heart, and I wanted nothing more than to kick his arrogant ass in the groin.
"You haven't answered my question." His calm unbothered voice was a stark contrast to his cold demeanor.
I inhaled deeply. "Zero." I choked out.
His look didn't falter, but I could have sworn I saw him sneer. "Zero?" He repeated, drawing out the word on his tongue.
"Yes, zero." I nodded with a wince.
I didn't see Alpha Detlef move. It wasn't until I felt his rough hand encircle my neck again, did my eyes widen in fear.
“And the second rule you'd learn is never to lie to me. Your master.” His eyes were dark with fury, and I gulped nervously.
“Did I make myself clear?” He spat.
I couldn't trust myself to nod against his grip. My head felt heavy, and I struggled to breathe.
“Please…” I whispered. Just then, my body jolted, and a voice whispered in my mind.
“Mate.”
My eyes widened in horror.

The Human Among Wolves
My stomach twisted, but he wasn’t finished.
"You're just a pathetic little human," Zayn said, his words deliberate, each one hitting like a slap. "Spreading your legs for the first guy who bothers to notice you."
Heat rushed to my face, burning with humiliation. My chest ached — not from his words alone, but from the sick realization that I had trusted him. That I had let myself believe he was different.
I was so, so stupid.

When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.
"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."
